Notice to Mariners No. 25 of 1935.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—HAURAKI GULF.

Flat Rock: Alteration in Light.

Position: Lat. 36° 26′·7 S., long. 174° 55′·7 E. (approx.). Chart 1998.

Abridged description: Fl. ev. 7 sec. 44 ft. 10 M (U).

Alteration: The character of the light will be altered on or about the 10th instant from group flashing to flashing every seven seconds, thus—light 1 second, eclipse 6 seconds. No other changes have been made.

Charts affected: 1998—3565—2543.

Land Surveyor’s Examination, September, 1935, Australia and New Zealand.

The Survey Board of New Zealand,
Wellington, 26th June, 1935.

IT is hereby notified for general information that the Survey Board, in conjunction with the Australian Surveyors Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates for registration as surveyor, commencing at 10 a.m. on Monday, 16th September, at Wellington.

Candidates are notified that their applications, on the proper form, must reach the Secretary of the Board not later than Monday, 2nd September, and that the examination fee must be paid at the same time to the Secretary, from whom application forms and other particulars may be obtained.

Candidates sitting under Rule VIII (1) will be accepted at this examination, and with candidates completing former sittings may sit in other centres where there is a Chief Surveyor’s office, but the latter must pay an extra fee of £1 1s. in addition to the ordinary fees unless the full fee of £5 5s. is payable, when no extra fee is chargeable.

Examination in all subjects, fee of £5 5s. New candidates for the full examination will sit in Wellington.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1932.—Notice of Cancellation of Award.

In the matter of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, and its amendments, and in the matter of an industrial dispute between the Auckland Ship, Yacht, and Boat Builders’ Industrial Union of Workers, applicant, and C. Bailey and Sons, Ltd., and others, respondents.

WHEREAS the Conciliation Commissioner, by notice under his hand dated the 24th day of June, 1935, has notified the Clerk of Awards that a settlement of the above-mentioned dispute has not been arrived at by the Council of Conciliation appointed for the hearing thereof, notice is hereby given that in accordance with section 7 (4) of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1932, the Northern Industrial District Ship, Yacht, and Boat Builders’ award, dated 6th September, 1933, and published in Book of Awards, Volume XXXIII, page 829, is deemed to be cancelled, and ceases to be in force on the expiration of one month from the date of the Commissioner’s notification to the Clerk of Awards as aforesaid.
