HENDERSON TOWN BOARD.
RESOLUTION RAISING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 23 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Henderson Town Board hereby resolves as follows :—
“Whereas in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, and the Henderson Town Board Loans Conversion Order, 1934, the Henderson Town Board resolved on the 11th day of September, 1934, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the new securities authorized to be issued by the said Board under the said last-mentioned Act and Order, and also for the other purposes set out in such resolution, to make and levy a special rate of seventeenpence half-penny (7½d.) in the pound upon the rateable property in the Henderson Town District, and that such special rate should be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the 1st day of May, 1969, or until all such securities were fully paid off: And whereas since the date of the passing of such resolution the whole of the rateable properties within the Henderson Town District have been revalued in terms of the Valuation of Land Act, 1925: And whereas on such new valuation the aforesaid rate of 7½d. in the pound will produce insufficient for the annual payments of interest and sinking fund on the said converted securities: Now, therefore, the aforesaid special rate of 7½d. in the pound shall be and is hereby increased to the sum of ninepence half-penny (9½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Henderson Town District to the intent that the increased rate of 9½d. in the pound shall be deemed in all respects to be made and levied for the purposes for which the said lower rate of 7½d. in the pound was so made and levied by the said resolution of the Board passed as aforesaid on the 11th day of September, 1934, and subsequently confirmed at a special meeting of the said Board held on the 28th day of September, 1934.”
