Alterations to the Scales of Charges upon the New Zealand Government
Railways.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling it under the
Government Railways Act, 1926, and its amendments, the
Government Railways Board hereby resolves to make the following
alterations in the General Scale of Charges made on the 4th day of
November, 1931, and published in the Gazette of the 13th day of
November, 1931, the Lake Wakatipu Steamer Service Scale of Charges
made on the 8th day of June, 1932, and published in the Gazette on
the 9th day of June, 1932, and to the Goods—Local Rates Scales of
Charges made on the 19th day of October, 1933, and published in the
Gazette of the 26th day of October, 1933, in force on the New Zealand
Government Railways open for traffic.

43. South Island Main Line and Branches.

By adding to paragraph 6 the following:—
Second-class six-trip tickets will be issued for travel by rail and steamer
between Dunedin or Ravensbourne and Portobello at a fare of 5s. each.
These tickets will be subject to the same conditions as trip bearer tickets
issued under the provisions of Regulation 9.

LUGGAGE, PARCELS, ETC.

55. Parcel Rates.

By adding new paragraph 13c:—
Sulkies, racing, to seat one person, each machine will be charged as 48 lb.
at rate and a half of the rates specified in paragraph 1 of this regulation.
The Department may require owners to remove wheels. When owners decline
to remove wheels when requested to do so charges will be computed as for a
two-wheeled carriage (Regulation 83).

By omitting from paragraph 17 the words "In no case shall the charge for a
canoe be less than as for 5 cwt. at Class A rate," and inserting in lieu thereof the
words "In no case shall the charge for a canoe exceeding 70 lb. in weight be less
than for 5 cwt. at Class A rate."

67. Local Rates and Regulations.

By adding new paragraph 7D:—
