Amending Regulations relating to Registration-plates under the Motor-vehicles Act, 1924.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of May, 1935.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 36 of the Motor-vehicles Act, 1924, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations.

REGULATIONS.

  1. These regulations may be cited as the Motor-vehicles (Registration-plate) Regulations, Amendment No. 2.

  2. These regulations shall be read together with and deemed to form part of the Motor-vehicles (Registration-plate) Regulations, 1934 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”).

  3. These regulations shall apply to the licensing-year commencing on the 1st day of June, 1935, and subsequent licensing-years.

  4. Regulation 4 of the principal regulations is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the numerals “7¼”, and substituting therefor the numeral “9”.

  5. Regulation 5 of the principal regulations, as amended by Regulation 2 of the Motor-vehicles (Registration-plate) Regulations Amendment No. 1, is hereby further amended by substituting for the figures “301” and “300” in paragraph (a) thereof the figures “601” and “600” respectively.

  6. The forms numbered respectively 1 and 3 set out in the Schedule to the principal regulations are hereby revoked, and the forms numbered 1 and 3 set out in the Schedule hereto are substituted therefor respectively.

  7. On the reverse of the said forms numbered 1 and 3 there shall be set out the provisions of the First Schedule to the Motor-vehicles Act, 1924 (as amended by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1927, and the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1934–35), or the effect thereof.

  8. Where on an application for registration of a motor-vehicle it is desired also to obtain a license to use the same motor-vehicle, it shall be sufficient to make application on the form numbered 1 in the Schedule hereto.

  9. Where on an application for registration of a motor-vehicle it is not desired to obtain a license to use the motor-vehicle, the said form numbered 1 shall be used with the necessary modifications.
