In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of W. GUTHRIE AND COMPANY, LIMITED.

THE following resolution was passed on the 3rd day of April, 1935:—

“Resolved that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up, and that SYDNEY ERNEST BROWNS, Public Accountant, Wellington, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.”

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 1st day of April, 1935, presented to the said Court by the Official Liquidator of Oswald M. Smith and Co., Limited (in Liquidation), and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Dunedin on the 3rd day of May, 1935, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Fendalton Park Loan, £3,500, 1935.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £3,500 authorized to be raised by the Waimairi County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of acquiring a Public Park in the Fendalton Riding of the Waimairi County, the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twentieth (1/20th) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (being capital value) of all the rateable property of the Fendalton Park Loan Special-rating Area in the Fendalton and Wairarapa Ridings of the Waimairi County, as described in the Schedule hereto, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Fendalton and Wairarapa Ridings of the County of Waimairi, commencing at the south-western corner of Wairarapa Road and Ilam Road; thence south-easterly along the southern side of Wairarapa Road to Idris Road; thence southerly along the western side of Idris Road to Wroxton Terrace; thence easterly along the southern side of Wroxton Terrace to the Northern Railway-line; thence southerly along the western side of the Northern Railway-line to the northern bank of the River Avon; thence along the northern bank of the River Avon to the western side of Strayon Road; thence southerly along Strayon Road to the south-eastern corner of Lot 343, D.P. 7042, B.S. 163; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Lots 343, 345, 346, 347, and 348 of the said D.P., and the northern boundary of the Borough of Riccarton to Totara Street at the western corner of Lot 490, D.P. 7511; thence in a northerly direction along the boundary of the Borough of Riccarton from Lot 491, D.P. 6500, to the northern corner of Lot 391, D.P. 6500, at the River Avon; thence westerly and south-westerly along the River Avon to the west side of Clyde Road; thence southerly along the west side of Clyde Road to the north side
