Education Act, 1914.—Amended Regulations.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of April, 1935.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Education Act, 1914, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations in amendment of existing regulations; and, with the like advice and consent, doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

AMENDED REGULATIONS.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS: SALARIES, GRADING, STAFFING, ETC.

  1. The regulations relating to Public Schools: Salaries, Grading, Staffing, &c., made by Orders in Council as shown in the First Schedule hereto are hereby amended by omitting subclause (2) of clause 41.

TRAINING COLLEGES.

  1. The regulations relating to Training Colleges made by Orders in Council as shown in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby amended by adding the following words to subclause (9) of clause 15:—

“Any candidate who has obtained at least 40 per cent. of the maximum marks in mathematics at the University Entrance Examination or who has passed in arithmetic and in algebra and geometry in the School Certificate Examination shall be exempted from examination in arithmetic and in algebra and geometry provided that he has also obtained the higher-leaving-certificate qualification in Latin, French, or science.”
