Import Duties Act of United Kingdom.

Customs Department,
Wellington, 16th March, 1935.

WITH reference to the notification published in the Gazette of 25th May, 1933, at page 1458, regarding the form of certificate of origin required to be produced to the Customs authorities in the United Kingdom in order that certain manufactured goods exported from New Zealand may be entitled to the benefits of the exemptions from duty contained in the Import Duties Act of the United Kingdom, it is hereby notified for public information that, according to advice received by the Customs Department, the classes of manufactured goods set out in the schedule hereto will not be deemed to have been manufactured in the British Empire, for the purposes of the said exemptions, unless at least fifty per cent. of their value is the result of labour within the British Empire, or is derived from materials grown or produced within the British Empire.

SCHEDULE.

List of manufactured goods which in order to qualify for Imperial preference on entry into the United Kingdom must contain a minimum of 50 per cent. of Empire materials and labour:—

Iron and steel guides, tee shape, of a description commonly used for lifts or elevators.
Carpets, carpeting, floor rugs, floor mats, and matting.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection under the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 12 noon on Tuesday, the 23rd April, 1935.

The lands described in the First Schedule may, at the option of the applicants, be purchased for cash, or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease. The lands described in the Second Schedule may be selected on renewable lease only.
