been appointed to be the Deputies of the Registrars of
Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the districts set
respectively opposite their names, viz.:

Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following
appointments in the Public Service:
Thomas Donaldson Urquhart,
to be Registrar of Brands for the purposes of the Stock Act,
1908, for the Geraldine, Mackenzie, and Waimate Branding
Registration Districts, as from the 1st day of February, 1935.
Adam Harvey Laybourn,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and
Deaths for the District of Pukekohe, and Registrar of Births
and Deaths of Maoris, at Pukekohe, as from the 5th day of
March, 1935.
Percival Steele Miller,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and
Deaths for the District of Whangaroa, and Registrar of Births
and Deaths of Maoris at Kaeo, as from the 6th day of March,
1935.
Richard Thomas Stitt,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Kaitaia,
at Awanui, and Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Awanui, as from the 5th day of March, 1935.
Arthur Roger Carre Claridge,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Dannevirke,
as from the 11th day of March, 1935.

Classification of Frasertown - Lake House Main Highway No. 337.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me
by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy
Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates,
Minister of Transport, do hereby alter the Main Highways
Board's proposed classification of the road described in the
Schedule hereto and situated in Wairoa County, and do
hereby approve such altered classification as set forth in the
said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

WAIROA COUNTY.
Road classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon
of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy
motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not
more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle
which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than
10 tons:
Frasertown - Lake House Main Highway No. 337 (all that
portion from its junction with Gisborne-Wairoa via
Hangaroa Main Highway at Frasertown to Tuai).
Road classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon
of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy
motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not
more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle
which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than
6½ tons:
Frasertown - Lake House Main Highway No. 337 (all that
portion from Tuai to Waikaremoana Lake House Landing).

Classification of Roads in Waiapu County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me
by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy
Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates,
Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Waiapu
County Council's proposed classification of the roads described
in the Schedule hereto and situated in Waiapu County.

ROADS classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon
of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy
motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Fendalton Park Loan (£3,500) 1935 Proposal.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926,
notice is hereby given that the result of a poll of ratepayers
in the Fendalton Park Special Loan Area in the Fendalton
and Wairarapa Ridings of the Waimairi County, taken on
the 14th day of March, 1935, was as follows:
The total number of valid votes cast—
Votes.
For the proposal . . . . . 330
Against the proposal . . . . . 210
As the number of votes cast in favour of the proposal
was more than three-fifths of the total number cast, I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
