Land proclaimed as a Road, and Road closed, in Block XI,
Waitaha Survey District, Westland County.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section
twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim as a road the land in Waitaha Survey District
described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby
proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule
hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LAND PROCLAIMED AS A ROAD.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road :
3 roods 32·6 perches.
Being portion of Reserve 1190; coloured red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ROAD CLOSED.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed : 2 acres 0 roods
2·9 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Reserve 1190 ; coloured green.
All situated in Block XI, Waitaha Survey District (Westland
R.D.). (S.O. 3140.)
All in the Westland Land District; as the same are more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 88932,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 13th day of
March, 1935.

Island Council of Niue appointed.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
PURSUANT to the authority vested in me by section sixty-five
of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and by an Order in Council of
the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen,
providing for the constitution of Island Councils in the Cook Islands,
I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby revoke the appointment of the present members
of the Island Council of Niue, and in lieu thereof do hereby nominate
and appoint the following persons as members of the said Island Council
of Niue, to hold office during my pleasure, that is to say :—
Alofi South . . Puleiki. Lakepa . . Togiátu.
Alofi North . . Patali. Liku . . Lagatuki.
Makefu . . Mitihepi. Hakupu . . Galiki.
Tuapa . . Manetoa. Fatiau . . Hifoheulu.
Namukulu . . Kinitoa. Avatele . . Kalauta.
Hikutavake . . Pulegamotu. Tamakautoga . . Pitevalu.
Mutalau . . Makatogia.
And I do hereby declare that such revocation and appointment
shall take effect on the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred
and thirty-five.

Dominion of New Zealand, this 13th day of March, 1935.

Appointment of Chairman and Member of Advisory Council of
Scientific and Industrial Research.
Wellington, 18th March, 1935.
HIS Excellency the Administrator of the Government has
been pleased, in pursuance and by virtue of the powers
conferred upon him by section 6 of the Scientific and Industrial
Research Act, 1926, and by section 2 of the Scientific and
Industrial Research Amendment Act, 1931, to appoint
Professor Henry George Denham, M.A., D.Sc., Ph.D., to be
Chairman of the Council of Scientific and Industrial
Research; and
Professor William Riddet, B.Sc. (Agric.), N.D.A., N.D.D.,
to be a member of the Council of Scientific and Industrial
Research, vice George Shirtcliffe, Esquire, O.B.E., re-
signed, with effect as from the 1st day of March, 1935,
until the 31st day of December, 1935.
