WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and the Whakatane Borough Loans Conversion Order, 1934 (No. 1), the Whakatane Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the new securities authorized to be issued by the Whakatane Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act and Order in conversion of existing securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, the said Whakatane Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one shilling and one penny farthing (1s. 1¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the district, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the first day of December, 1960, or until all such securities are fully paid off.”

“That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest in respect of the new securities authorized to be issued by the Whakatane Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act and Order in conversion of existing securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, the said Whakatane Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fivepence (5d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the district, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the ninth day of December, 1959, or until all such securities are fully paid off.”

CHANGE OF NAMES.
WE, CLIFFORD LAWTON and EDNA LOUISA LAWTON (wife of the said Clifford Lawton), both of Auckland, do hereby give notice that by deed-poll bearing date the 10th day of December, 1934, enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Auckland, we have severally renounced and abandoned the use of the surname “Costello” formerly used by us and have adopted and intend henceforth to assume and use the surname of “Lawton.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Ekatahuna County Council Conversion Loan, 1934 (No. 3).
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and the Ekatahuna County Loans Conversion Order, 1934 (No. 3), the Ekatahuna County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest in respect of the new securities authorized to be issued by the Ekatahuna County Council under the above-mentioned Act and Order in conversion of existing securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, and also the instalments of principal and interest in respect of the unconverted securities issued in respect of such loans, the said Ekatahuna County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eighty-five one-thousandths of one penny in the pound (85/1000d.) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the district, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable half-yearly on the 12th day of February and the 12th day of August in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the 12th day of August, 1961, or until such securities are fully paid off.”
