Authorizing James William Patterson, of Burke's Creek, Reefton,
to use Water for the Purpose of generating Electricity.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of
December, 1934.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby grant to
James William Patterson, of Burke’s Creek, Reefton, a license
subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to obstruct,
impound, or divert the waters of Burke’s Creek at a point
situated on road reserve near the north-eastern corner of
Section E.R. 116, Block IX, Reefton Survey District, in the
Land District of Nelson, and to take and use therefrom for
the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not
exceeding one cubic foot per second at any one time.
CONDITIONS.

IMPLIED CONDITIONS.
The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the
Water-power Regulations, 1934, shall be incorporated in and
shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same
may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof. -
UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.
Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose
of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the stream
at the point indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 87934,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works. -
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS.
The licensee is hereby authorized to construct, maintain,
and use the following works for the purposes of this license,
the position of the works being indicated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 87934 hereinbefore referred to:---
(a) Headworks consisting of an intake and water-race and
pipe-lines leading across Sections 5 and 6 to the
water-wheel and power-house on Section 112 herein-
after referred to, all being situated in Block IX,
Reefton Survey District.
(b) Tail-race leading from the said water-wheel to the said
stream.
(c) A power-house with all necessary equipment, including
water turbines, generators, transformers, lightning-
arresters, switchboards, switches, exciters, and other
appliances for generating electricity. -
DURATION OF LICENSE.
This license shall, unless sooner determined, continue in
force until the 31st day of March, 1956. -
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (c)
of clause 5 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1927. The
generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be
approximately 50 volts direct current. -
RENTAL.
For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum pay-
able in respect of the license, the licensee shall instal a
maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspect-
ing Engineer of the Public Works Department, or, failing such
installation, the rental shall be determined on the maximum
capacity of the generating plant installed. The present plant
is rated at 0·25 kilowatt, and falls within the classes described
in paragraph (b) of clause (2) of Regulation 6 of the Water-
power Regulations, 1934.

Cancelling the Reservation over a Reserve in the Hautapu Survey
District, Wellington Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of
December, 1934.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by subsection one (h) of section
seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks
Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor - General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
both hereby cancel the reservation for a public cemetery
over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and both
hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown,
is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 2a, Block III, Hautapu Survey District : Area,
l acre l rood 15·9 perches, more or less.

Declaring Portions of Road in Block IX, Linkwater Survey
District, to be Government Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of
December, 1934.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCEY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the
portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on
and after the date of this Order in Council, become Govern-
ment roads.
SCHEDULE.
ALL those portions of road, containing 6 acres 2 roods, more
or less, fronting Section 3, Block IX, Linkwater Survey
District, and the Mahakipawa Arm. In the Marlborough
Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated
on the plan marked P.W.D. 88640, deposited in the office
of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured yellow.

District, to be Government Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of
December, 1934.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCEY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the
portions of roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on
and after the date of this Order in Council, become Govern-
ment roads.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of river-bank road, along the Wairau River,
fronting Sections 21, 23, and 24, Block XVII, Cloudy Bay
Survey District; marked “A–B” on plan.
Also all that portion of road adjoining or passing through
Sections 18 and 24, Block XVII, Cloudy Bay Survey District;
marked “B–C” on plan.
Also all that portion of road adjoining or passing through
Sections 21 and 23, Block XVII, Cloudy Bay Survey District;
marked “D–E” on plan.
All in the Marlborough Land District ; as the same are more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 88511,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wel-
lington, and thereon coloured yellow.
