NOTICE is hereby given that by an entry in its minute book the above-named company, on the 18th day of October, 1934, passed a resolution (a) For voluntary winding up, and (b) appointing WILLIAM SAMUEL NEWBURGH, of Christchurch, as liquidator; and that a meeting of the creditors of the above-named company will accordingly be held at the Chamber of Commerce Library, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, on Saturday, the 27th day of October, 1934, at 11.15 o’clock in the forenoon.

TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and the Taumarunui Borough Loans Conversion Order, 1934 (No. 2), the Taumarunui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the instalments of principal and interest and other charges on the new securities authorized to be issued by the Taumarunui Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act and Order in conversion of existing securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, and also instalments of principal and interest and other charges on the unconverted securities issued in respect of such loans, the said Taumarunui Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and thirty-one one-hundredths of a penny (1·31/100d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the district, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the 2nd day of October, 1958, or until all such securities are fully paid off.”

We, the undersigned, hereby certify that the above is a true copy and extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the Taumarunui Borough Council of the 16th day of October, 1934.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Taumarunui was hereto affixed this 16th day of October, 1934, in the presence of—

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500) authorized to be raised by the Levin Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) maturing on the first day of November, 1934, the said Levin Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-seventh (1/7th) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Levin, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

POVERTY BAY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

In the matter of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and its amendments, and of the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to take and acquire certain land for the purposes of a certain public work—namely, the extension and enlargement of the electrical undertaking of the Board—and for that purpose the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited at the office of the Board situate in Peel Street, Gisborne, and at the office of Messrs. Burnard and Bull, Solicitors to the Board, situate in Gladstone Road, Gisborne, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Secretary of the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board at the Board’s offices at Peel Street, Gisborne.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership hitherto subsisting between MAY EVELYN LAURENSON, wife of John Bruce Laurensen, of Tahuna Road, Morrinsville, Farmer, and HORACE WILFRED YOUNG, of Hawera, Butcher, carrying on business at Tahuna Road, Morrinsville, as Farmers under the firm name of “Laurensen and Young,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 1st day of July, 1934.
