Trade Marks: Goods the Importation of which is prohibited.

Customs Department,
Wellington, 14th August, 1934.

IT is hereby notified for public information that under the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1908, goods of the nature set forth hereunder, to which the trade-mark described below or any mark so nearly resembling the same as to be calculated to deceive has been falsely applied in infringement of the registered trade-mark of Imperial Chemical Industries of Australia and New Zealand, Limited, of 376-380 Collins Street, Melbourne, Australia, are prohibited from importation into New Zealand.

Nature of Goods.
Fasteners of the sliding type ..

Description of Trade-mark.
Nos. B. 31207 and B. 31208, comprising the word “Lightning,” and the device of a flash of lightning.

If any such goods are imported they will be liable to detention and to be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the above-mentioned Act.

A trade-mark is deemed, for the purpose of the aforesaid Act, to be falsely applied to goods if it is applied without the assent of the proprietor of such trade-mark.

ERRATUM.—In the notification dated 25th January, 1934, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 3 of 25th January, 1934, page 85, notifying the name of “Whareputara Rapana” as an Officiating Minister within the meaning of the Marriage Act, 1908, under the Ratana Established Church of New Zealand, the name of “Whareputara Rapana” should read “Te Aaka Rapana.”

Trade-marks: Goods prohibited to be Imported (Cancellation of Notification).

IT is hereby notified for public information that the notification dated 9th January, 1929, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 10th January, 1929, regarding the prohibition under the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1908, of the importation of certain goods to which the trade-marks “Orange-Crush,” “Lemon-Crush,” or “Lime-Crush,” have been falsely applied, is hereby cancelled.

I, FELIX HERBERT WATERS, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Taranaki Land Board in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, do hereby declare that the result of the poll taken on the 8th August, 1934, to be as follows :—

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 21st September, 1934. The ballot will be held on Tuesday, the 25th September, 1934.

Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Napier, 14th August, 1934.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, 23rd August, 1934.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Friday, 24th August, 1934, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SECTION 7, Block VIII: Area, 387 acres 3 roods 31 perches. Capital value, £1,750; half-yearly rent, £43 15s.

Weighted with £640 for improvements, consisting of dwelling, cow-byre, certain boundary and subdivisional fencing, ditches and drains, felling and grassing. This sum may be paid in cash or by a deposit of £40, the balance being secured by an instalment-mortgage, term thirty-six years and a half, interest 5 per cent. to a returned soldier, or term thirty-four years and a half, interest 5½ per cent. to all others. The improvements which are included in the capital value consist of certain boundary-fencing valued at £40.

This property, which is subdivided into three large and two small paddocks, is suitable for sheep-farming, and to a limited extent for dairying. Situated on the Pakuratahi Settlement
