Land permanently reserved in the Auckland Land District for the Preservation of Native Fauna and Flora.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by Warrant dated the second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, and published in the Gazette of the seventh day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the preservation of native fauna and flora:
Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for the preservation of native fauna and flora for which the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL those islands, situated in the South Pacific Ocean, between the parallels of 29° and 32° south latitude and the meridians of 177 and 180 west longitude and commonly known as the Kermadec Group. Save and excepting therefrom Section 9 of Raoul or Sunday Island, situated at longitude 177° 53′ 33″ west, and latitude 29° 16′ 3″ south, and containing by admeasurement an area of 275 acres, more or less, and registered in the office of the District Land Registrar, Auckland, under certificate of title, Volume 475/118. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/1517, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 31st day of January, 1934.

John Gordon Cliff-McCulloch, Esquire, Farmer, of Whakatane,
to be a member of the Assessment Court for the Borough of Whakatane; and also to appoint
Alexander Campbell Sutherland, Esquire, Farmer, of Whakatane,
on the recommendation of the Whakatane Borough Council, to be a member of the said Assessment Court.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed
Sydney Merville Stent, of Rangiwahia,
to be an officer for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act in respect of the Feilding and District Acclimatization District.

N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS.
David Llewellyn Lewis to be Lieutenant and is appointed Ordnance Officer (temp.), Southern Command. Dated 1st February, 1934.
THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.
Captain A. B. Ranby, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the N.Z. Air Force. Dated 4th January, 1934.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) J. Conolly, 2nd Cadet Battalion, is confirmed.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.
George Anthony Ball to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is posted to the 3rd Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st December, 1933.
THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant E. M. Grace, Regimental Supernumerary List, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 4. Dated 16th January, 1934.
THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.
Major-General Sir Andrew H. Russell, K.C.B., K.C.M.G., Retired List, to be Honorary Colonel to the Regiment. Dated 26th January, 1934.
THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) F. Cook, 2nd Cadet Battalion, is confirmed.
THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant B. I. Bassett, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st July, 1933.
THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, AND WEST COAST REGIMENT.
Lieutenant A. Macdonald, M.C., Regimental Supernumerary List, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 12th January, 1934.
N.Z. AIR FORCE.
Flying Officer (Hon. Squadron Leader) R. J. Sinclair, No. 4 (Army Co-operation) Squadron, to be Flight Lieutenant (Hon. Squadron Leader). Dated 24th January, 1934.
Captain A. B. Ranby, from the Hauraki Regiment, to be Flying Officer (Hon. Flight Lieutenant), with seniority from 1st May, 1933, next below Flying Officer F. R. Dix, and is posted to No. 1 (Army Co-operation) Squadron. Dated 4th January, 1934.
N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.
Lieutenant A. W. S. Littlejohn, 1st Composite Company, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 16th January, 1934.
N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend Thomas Skuse, Chaplain, 4th Class (Methodist), is transferred from R.D. 2 to R.D. 8. Dated 25th January, 1934.
