THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

  1. No. 4 Regimental District is hereby divided into two Regimental Districts as follows:—

No. 2 REGIMENTAL DISTRICT.
(Headquarters, Paeroa.)

Comprising the counties of Coromandel, Thames, Ohinemuri, Tauranga, Whakatane, Opotiki, that portion of the County of Taupo north of the* southern boundary of the Command, the counties of Rotorua, Matamata, Piako, and Hauraki Plains.

No. 4 REGIMENTAL DISTRICT.
(Headquarters, Hamilton.)

Comprising the counties of Waikato, Waipa, Otorohanga, Waitomo, those portions of the counties of Taumarunui and Kaitieke north of the southern boundary of the Command, the counties of Ohura, Kawhia, and Raglan.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 3rd day of July, 1934.

Warrant vesting the Control of Portion of a Road on the Boundary between the Waikato County and the Huntly Borough and apportioning the Cost of Maintenance and Lighting.


BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of the gazetting hereof, be under the control of the Waikato County Council; and I do hereby further direct that the cost of maintaining and lighting the said portion of road shall be borne by the Waikato County Council and the Huntly Borough Council in equal proportions; and I do also further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Huntly Borough Council shall be paid from time to time in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the said Council, within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Waikato County Council, and all such payments shall be made from time to time to the Clerk, Waikato County Council, for and on behalf of the said Borough Council.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of road situated in the Auckland Land District, Waikato County, commencing at its junction with the Great South Road and running in a south-easterly direction generally to the northernmost corner of Section 9, Taupiri Parish, Block XII, Rangiriri Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 87147, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of July, 1934.

Notice of Vacation of Office of a Member of the District Licensing Authority of No. 7 Transport District in terms of the Transport Licensing Act, 1931.


IT is hereby notified that William Thompson Churchward, Solicitor, of Blenheim, has resigned his office as a member of the District Licensing Authority for the No. 7 Transport District, and that the resignation shall take effect as from the date hereof.

Alteration in Membership of the District Licensing Authority for No. 7 Transport District in terms of the Transport Licensing Act, 1931.


IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby appoint Errol Reid, Land-agent, of Blenheim, to be a member of the District Licensing Authority of the No. 7 Transport District for a term commencing on the date hereof, and expiring on the 28th day of February, 1935.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

COMMANDS AND STAFF.

Lieutenant-Colonel R. D. McFarland, M.C., The Waikato Regiment, relinquishes command of the 1st Battalion, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 4. Dated 31st May, 1934.

Major R. V. Closey, The Waikato Regiment, is appointed to command the 1st Battalion, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 1st June, 1934.

Lieutenant-Colonel A. S. Falconer, D.S.O., M.C., The Otago Regiment, relinquishes command of the 1st Battalion, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 11. Dated 31st May, 1934.

Major J. McPherson, O.B.E., The Otago Regiment, is appointed to command the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st June, 1934.

Major R. Sinel, Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, is appointed to command the 5th Field Battery, N.Z.A. Dated 20th May, 1934.

Flight Lieutenant A. de T. Nevill, B.Sc., A.M.I.Ae.E., Royal N.Z. Air Force, relinquishes the appointment of Staff Officer to the Director of Air Services, G.H.Q., on proceeding to England to attend the Staff College, Andover, to act as Liaison Officer at the Air Ministry, and to undergo a special course, and is seconded. Dated 22nd June, 1934.

Flight Lieutenant T. J. Denton, Royal N.Z. Air Force, is appointed Staff Officer to the Director of Air Services, G.H.Q., and retains the appointments of Equipment Officer, N.Z. Air Force, and Equipment Officer, Wigram Aerodrome, Sockburn. Dated 23rd June, 1934.

THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain T. F. Christian, Regimental Supernumerary List, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 11. Dated 16th June, 1934.
