CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Settlement Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 4th July, 1934.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 23rd July, 1934.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 25th July, 1934, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Whangarei County.—Aponga Settlement.

SECTION 2s: Area, 793 acres 1 rood 20 perches. Capital value, £3,190; half-yearly rent, £70 15s.

Loaded with £60 for buildings payable in cash or by twenty half-yearly instalments of £3 17s. 9d. each.

The section is situated on Findlayson’s Road, twenty miles from Whangarei, seventeen miles from Kamo, and sixteen miles from Ruatangata Railway-station. School is at Purua, three miles and a half distant. Access is by good metalled cart-road from Kamo. There are a few acres of flat, about two-thirds could be described as undulating, and about a third is hilly to broken. Some 450 acres is in fairly good pasture, 175 acres in worn-out pasture (fern and grass),

30 acres mostly in fern with a little grass, 120 acres in fern and tea-tree, 5 acres in shelter clumps, 2 acres lucerne, and about 11 acres that have been ploughed for turnips, maize, oats, and potatoes. The soil is mostly good sandstone brown rubble resting on blue-rock formation; well watered by several permanent creeks. Property is ring-fenced and is subdivided into seven paddocks.

Buildings comprise a three-roomed leanto dwelling 36 ft. by 12 ft., iron sides and roof, beaver-board lining on walls and ceiling, iron chimney, and four-bailed cowshed and separator room built of kauri boards, iron roof, with concrete floor.

Improvements included in the capital value consist of 83 chains road-fencing, £62 5s.; 170 chains boundary-fencing, £127 15s.; 238 chains subdivisional fencing, £161 2s. 6d.; plantations and shelter-belts, £5; orchard, ¼ acre, £5; 655 acres cleared, burnt and grassed, £1,730; and 13 acres ploughed for lucerne, maize, turnips, oats, and potatoes, £21.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for selection on optional tenures by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 18th July, 1934, at 11 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and section 3 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1930.
