Lands set apart as Provisional State Forests declared to be subject to the Land Act, 1924.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Lands, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto, being portions of Provisional State Forests Nos. 1678 and 1621, set apart by Proclamations dated the twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and gazetted on the eighth day of May of that year, and the eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and gazetted on the fourteenth day of that month, respectively, are required for settlement purposes ; and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act such lands shall, from and after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forests, and shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

WESTLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 130 acres, more or less, being part of Provisional State Forest No. 1678, situated in Block XV, Waimea Survey District, and bounded as follows : Commencing at the south-west corner of Section 3386 and proceeding on a bearing 261° 29′ to and across the Duffer’s Creek Road a distance of 4050 links ; thence on a bearing 351° 29′ for 3200 links to the southern side of the Hokitika–Kumara Road, and proceeding along the southern side of the said road to and across Duffer’s Creek Road to a gravel reserve ; thence south-easterly along the western boundary of the said gravel reserve and the western boundary of Section 3386 to the point of commencement.

Also all that area in the said land district, containing 856 acres, more or less, being 185 acres of Provisional State Forest No. 1678 and 671 acres of Provisional State Forest No. 1621, situated in Blocks XV and XVI respectively of the Waimea Survey District, bounded as follows : Commencing at the south-east corner of Section 1849, Block XVI, Waimea Survey District, and following the western side of the Hokitika–Kumara Road in a south-westerly direction to Section 1364 ; thence along the north-eastern, the north-western, and the south-western boundaries of said Section 1364 to the Hokitika–Kumara Road ; thence westerly along the north side of the Hokitika–Kumara Road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 1358 ; thence across the Hokitika–Kumara Road to the north-western corner of Section 1358 ; thence along the south-western boundary of said Section 1358 for a distance of 2000 links ; thence running 238° for 2450 links ; thence 171° 29′ for 2750 links ; thence 261° 29′ for 2750 links ; thence 351° 29′ for 1000 links to the south-eastern corner of Section 3386 ; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 3386 to the Hokitika–Kumara Road ; thence easterly along the south side of Hokitika–Kumara Road to a point in line with the eastern side of Callaghan’s Road ; thence across the Hokitika–Kumara Road and along the eastern side of Callaghan’s Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Reserve 1133 ; thence across Callaghan’s Road and along the northern boundary of said Reserve 1133 to its most northerly corner ; thence running 353° 45′ for 700 links ; thence 335° 54′ for 260 links ; thence 289° 34′ for 340 links ; thence 328° 59′ for 550 links ; thence 319° for 3350 links ; thence 348° for 3500 links ; thence 252° for 2000 links ; thence 342° to Hunts Creek ; thence north-easterly along Hunts Creek for 3300 links ; thence 103° for 950 links ; thence 13° 30′ for 1300 links ; thence 103° 30′ for 4250 links to the north-western corner of Section 1772 ; thence southerly along the western boundary of the said section to the south-western corner thereof ; and thence easterly along the southern boundary of Section 1849 to the point of commencement.

As the same are delineated on plan marked L. and S. X/97/28A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 27th day of June, 1934.
