Regulation under the Government Life Insurance Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 3rd day of May, 1934.
Present:

THE RIGHT HON. G. W. FORBES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities in this behalf vested in him by the Government Life Insurance Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in this behalf vested in him, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve and direct the use of the tables set forth in the Schedule hereto.

Whole Life Assurance with Profits.
YEARLY premium payable throughout the term of the policy to secure £100 with profits payable at death only:-

Yearly premiums in respect of assurances under the above tables for ages at nearest birthday and for terms of premium payment intermediate between those respectively above specified shall be graduated progressively in accordance with the premiums set out above. A premium payable half-yearly or quarterly shall be a proportionate part of the respective yearly premium increased by a percentage of 2½ or 5, as the case may be. Yearly premiums may be made payable by monthly or four-weekly instalments, which shall be a proportionate part of the yearly premium increased by 2½ per centum.

And whereas by Proclamation made on the twenty-third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and published in the Gazette on the same day, at page 1321, it was proclaimed and notified that the said agreement should come into force on the twenty-fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two:

And whereas by the said Article X it was further provided that the said agreement should remain in force for a period of one year:

And whereas the period for which the said agreement should remain in force has from time to time been extended:

And whereas it has been mutually agreed by His Majesty's Government in the Dominion of Canada and His Majesty's Government in the Dominion of New Zealand that the said agreement should be further extended as hereinafter appears:

And whereas by the said Act it is further provided that any agreement modifying the said agreement may be given effect to by Order in Council under the Customs Amendment Act, 1921:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Customs Amendment Act, 1921, and subsection two of section two of the Trade Agreement (New Zealand and Canada) Ratification Act, 1932, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order and direct that the operation of the said agreement shall be extended for a period of twelve months from the twenty-fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four.

Vesting the Control of Lake Rotoiti Scenic Reserves in a Scenic Board.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by sections eighteen, nineteen, and twenty of the Native Purposes Act, 1931, and section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserves described in the Schedule hereto (being land subject to the last-mentioned Act) for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under that Act) in the undermentioned persons, namely:-

Wirihana Tamati,
Heemi Te Uara,
Rangikauarairo Taiatini Te Tikao,
Te Mapu te Kirikau,
Wharerangi Ratema, and
The Government Tourist Agent at Rotorua, ex officio,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Lake Rotoiti Scenic Board (herein referred to as "the Board"), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,-

  1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Tuesday, the fifth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, at Otaremarae, Rotoiti, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Monday in each month at the place aforesaid, or at such time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

  2. The Chairman shall have an original as well as a casting vote, and shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days' notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.

  6. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

  7. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

  8. The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March. together with a statement of

WHEREAS by Article X of the agreement ratified and confirmed by the Trade Agreement (New Zealand and Canada) Ratification Act, 1932, it was provided that the said agreement should be brought into force upon a date to be agreed upon between the Governments of Canada and of New Zealand:

And whereas by the said Act it is provided that the date on which the said agreement is brought into force in accordance with Article X thereof shall be notified by the Governor-General by Proclamation:
