Notice is hereby given to the holders of debentures or other securities issued by the Uawa County Council in respect of the above-mentioned loans that it is intended to convert all such debentures or other securities (except those in respect of which dissent is duly signified) into new debentures having new maturity dates and bearing interest at 4½ per cent. per annum. The conversion will take effect from the 1st day of March, 1934.
Application for conversion must be made in writing and be accompanied by the securities to which it relates.
Dissent from the conversion of any existing debentures or other securities may be signified by the holder only by notice in writing delivered to the County Clerk and Treasurer, Uawa County Council, P.O. Box 68, Tolaga Bay, on or before the 14th day of March, 1934.
If notice of dissent from the conversion of any debentures or other securities is not received by that date the securities will be converted.
The rate of interest on any debentures or other securities in respect of which dissent is signified as aforesaid, will, by virtue of section 18 of the above-mentioned Act, be reduced to two-thirds of the original rate as from the 1st day of March, 1934.
Further particulars as to the new debentures and the conversion generally may be obtained from the County Clerk and Treasurer, Uawa County Council, P.O. Box 68, Tolaga Bay.

THE HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR ROAD.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Counties Act, 1920.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Hawke’s Bay County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the laying-out and construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
Notice is further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken for road is deposited in the public offices of the Clerk to the said Council at Napier, and is open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands who have any well-founded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same on or before the 1st day of March, 1934, being a date not less than forty days from the first publication of this notice to the County Council at the Council Chambers, Browning Street, Napier.

KAIRANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATES.
New Fitzherbert Bridge Loan, 1933, £6,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by subsection (d) of section 17 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Kairanga County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the New Fitzherbert Bridge Loan, 1933, authorized to be raised by the Kairanga County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing its proportion of the cost of reconstruction of the Fitzherbert Bridge (including approaches thereto) on the Palmerston North–Levin Main Highway over the Manawatu River, the Kairanga County Council hereby makes and levies the special rate of thirty-eight one-thousandths (38/1000) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Kairanga ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years from the first day of September, 1933, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Streets-improvement Loan 1913 (£225,000) Redemption Loan, 1934, £100,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100,000 authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts, and to be known as the Streets Improvement Loan 1913 (£225,000) Redemption Loan, 1934, £100,000, for the purpose of redeeming portion of a loan of £225,000, maturing on the first day of January, 1934, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eight-thirteenths of a penny (8/13ths) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Auckland, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of four years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Additional Loan 1883 Redemption Loan, 1934, £100,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100,000 authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts, and to be known as the Additional Loan 1883 Redemption Loan, 1934, £100,000, for the purpose of redeeming portion of a loan of £200,000, maturing on the first day of January, 1934, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eight-thirteenths of a penny (8/13ths) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Auckland, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of four years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
