In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of GREENHALGH’S LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of Greenhalgh’s Limited, a company duly incorporated in the State of New South Wales, Manufacturers, to commence business in New Zealand, and that the registered office of the company in New Zealand for the conduct of such business is situated at 54 Victoria Street, Wellington.

THE WANGANUI-RANGITIKEI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

CONVERSION under the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, and the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power Board Loans Conversion Order, 1933 (No. 3), of debentures issued in respect of the following loans :—

First Redemption Loan, 1931, of £50,000, maturing 1st November, 1936 :

Loan of £26,000 (part of £40,000), 1927, maturing 1st October, 1937 :

Loan of £20,000, 1931, maturing 1st March, 1941 :

Loan of £14,100, 1931, maturing 1st December, 1936 :

except such debentures as were issued to the Wanganui City Council Sinking Fund Commissioners.

Notice is hereby given to the holders of debentures issued by the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power Board in respect of the above-mentioned loans that it is intended to convert all such debentures (except those in respect of which dissent is duly signified) into new debentures having new maturity dates and bearing interest at 4½ per cent. per annum.

The conversion will take effect from 1st March, 1934.

Application for conversion must be made in writing and be accompanied by the securities to which it relates.

Dissent from the conversion of any existing debentures may be signified by the holder by notice in writing delivered to the Secretary of the Board, at the Board’s offices, on or before the 20th day of November, 1933.

If notice of dissent from the conversion of any debentures is not received by that date the debentures will be converted.

The rate of interest on any debentures in respect of which dissent is signified as aforesaid will, by virtue of section 18 of the above-mentioned Act, be reduced to two-thirds of the original rate.

Further particulars as to the new debentures and the conversion generally may be obtained from the Secretary of the Board, at the Board’s offices, Wanganui.

WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD PURPOSES AND TO CLOSE ROAD.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and of the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Whakatane County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the First Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the said Whakatane County Council proposes under the provisions of the said Acts to close the existing road adjoining or passing through the land described in the Second Schedule hereto: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken and of the road proposed to be closed is deposited in the public office of the said Whakatane County Council, situated in the Strand, at Whakatane, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land or by the proposal to close such existing road who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land or to the closing of the said road must state their objections in writing and send the same to or lodge the same at the said office of the Whakatane County Council, at Whakatane, on or before the 6th day of March, 1934.

Approximate area of the portion of road to be closed: 27·6 perches.

Adjoining Allotment 98, Parish of Rangitaiki (Block V, Awa-o-te-Atua Survey District); coloured green on Plan S.O. 27340 (situated in the County of Whakatane).

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of PUTARURU NURSERIES, LTD. (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to sections 230 and 252 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the office of the Liquidator, Fifth Floor, South British Insurance Building, Shortland Street, Auckland, on Tuesday, the thirtieth day of January, 1934, at eleven o’clock in the morning, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and for hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books of account and documents of the company and of the Liquidator shall be disposed of.

THE AUCKLAND AND SUBURBAN DRAINAGE BOARD (LOAN NO. 11).

SPECIAL ORDER.

THE Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board doth hereby, by special order, in terms of sections 62 and 70 (g) of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Act, 1908, determine to borrow a sum not exceeding ninety-five thousand pounds sterling (£95,000) for the purpose of repaying the loan raised by the Board and known as “Loan No. 3.”

The foregoing special order was made by way of a special resolution passed at a special meeting of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board convened by requisition of the Chairman, dated the 7th day of December, 1933, and held on the 12th day of December 1933. It was publicly notified in the New Zealand Herald on the 18th and 28th days of December, 1933, and the 11th day of January, 1934, and the Auckland Star on the 22nd day of December, 1933, and the 4th day of January, 1934. It was confirmed at a special meeting of the Board convened by resolution of the Board on the 12th day of December, 1933, and held on the 16th day of January, 1934.

The Common Seal of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board was hereto affixed this sixteenth day of January, 1934, in the presence of—
