capital value of all rateable property in the Christchurch Tramway District as defined by the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, as amended by the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1932-33, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of the loan, including the 1st day of October, 1944, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.

Fourth, that the said rate be directed to be levied and collected by the Christchurch City Council, the New Brighton, Sumner, and Riccarton Borough Councils, and the Waimairi, Paparua, Heathcote, and Halswell County Councils, respectively, within their respective districts.

The Christchurch Tramway Board in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, and all other powers it enabling hereby further resolves by way of special order—

That until further resolution of the Board, the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the said renewal loan of £84,000 be paid out of the Board’s General Fund.

The above resolution having been duly advertised in terms of section 63 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, was confirmed by the Christchurch Tramway Board at a meeting held on the 16th day of April, 1934.

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A DAM.

To the Warden of the Ilaaraki Mining District, at Thames.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, the Body Corporate named the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Hauraki Plains hereby applies for a license for a dam as specified in the schedule hereto, the site whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 12/4/34: No. 52015.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of dam: Block XIII, Thames Survey District, on Apakura Stream, the right-hand branch of the Puriri Stream. Situated at a branch of the Apakura Stream distant 25 chains below the Kohiratu Stream, on the course of the Apakura Stream, and approximately three-quarters of a mile above the “Canoe Creek” branch of the said stream, County of Thames.

Mark on pegs, HP: marked out on 13/4/34, at 9.31 a.m.
Length of dam-wall: 100 ft.
Greatest height of same: 10 ft.
Breadth of same at base: 22 ft.
Length and width of water-area: 100 ft. by 150 ft.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Six months; £900.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.
Purpose for which water is to be stored: Watering of stock and supply to butter-factories and cheese-factories.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between WALTER THOMAS FOSTER KELLS MASON and HENRY MAXWELL, carrying on business as brokers at Premier Buildings, Auckland, under the style or firm of “Mason, Sterling, and Co.,” has been dissolved as from the 29th March, 1934, and that the said business will in future be carried on by the said Walter Thomas Foster Kells Mason under the style of “Mason, Sterling, and Co.,” at the above

SPHINX CEMENT PROCESSES, LIMITED.

THE COMPANIES ACT, 1908.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at No. 8 The Terrace, Wellington, on Wednesday, the seventh day of February, 1934, the following special resolution was duly passed; and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the company also duly convened and held at the same place on Monday, the fifth day of March, 1934, the following special resolution was duly confirmed, viz. :-

“That it be resolved that the company go into voluntary liquidation and that a Liquidator be appointed to dispose of the assets and wind up the affairs of the company.”

IN pursuance of section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, the undermentioned resolution was passed by the company on the 19th day of April, 1934:—

“Resolved by way of special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1933, and that Mr. SAMUEL MEADOW be appointed Liquidator for the purposes of winding up the company.”

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between CHARLES CUDBY and WILLIAM THOMAS TYRRELL, carrying on business at No. 37 Union Street, Hawera, as Shoemakers and Boot-importers, under the style or firm of “Cudby and Tyrrell,” has been dissolved as from the 1st day of April, 1934.

All debts due to the said late firm are now payable to the said William Thomas Tyrrell, who will continue to carry on the said business in his own name.
