LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Lower Hutt Borough Loans Conversion Order, 1934.

I, JOHN WILLIAM ANDREWS, Mayor of the Borough
of Lower Hutt, do hereby certify that pursuant to the
provisions of subsection (2) of section 9 of the Local Authorities
Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, a
resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Lower
Hutt Borough Council held on the 12th February, 1934, and
confirmed on the 26th February, 1934, providing for the
issue under Part II of that Act of new securities in conversion
of existing securities issued in respect of the loans set forth
in the First Schedule to the Lower Hutt Borough Loans
Conversion Order, 1934, as published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 5 of the 1st February, 1934, pages 148 to 152
(inclusive).

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter
of T. M. LANE AND SONS, LIMITED.

N OTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme
Court of New Zealand (Northern District) dated the
22nd day of February, 1934, confirming the reduction of the
capital of the above-named company from £15,000 to £7,000,
and the minute (approved by the Court) showing with respect
to the capital of the company as altered the particulars
required by the above statute, were registered by the Deputy
Registrar of Companies at Auckland on the 27th day of
February, 1934 :

And further take notice that the said minute is in the words
and figures following —

“ The capital of T. M. Lane and Sons, Limited, is £7,000
divided into 7,000 shares of £1 each, reduced from £15,000
divided into 15,000 shares of £1 each by extinguishing 8,000
shares. At the date of the registration of this minute the full
sum of £1 per share has been and is to be deemed paid up on
the said 7,000 shares.”

matter of CHESS TAXI CABS, LIMITED (in Liquidation).

A T an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of
the above-named company duly convened and held
at the registered office of the company, 101-103 Southern
Cross Buildings, Chancery Street, Auckland, on Monday, 12th
February, 1934, the following extraordinary resolution was
duly passed —

“ That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting
that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue
its business and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and
accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily, and
that ARCHIBALD PETER STEWART BELL, of Auckland, be
appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest
Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, and the
Wanganui City Loans Conversion Order, 1933, the Wanganui
City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the interest and other
charges on the new securities authorized to be issued by the
Wanganui City Council under the above-mentioned Act and
Order in conversion of existing securities issued in respect of
the following loans :—

The Wanganui East Borough Council Supplementary
Drainage Loan of £4,000 ;
The Wanganui East Borough Council Footways and
Street Lamps Loan of £3,000 ;

and also the interest and other charges on the unconverted
securities issued in respect of such loans, the said Wanganui
City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixpence
(6d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable
property in the City of Wanganui, the boundaries whereof are defined in
the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th day of August, 1926,
