Notice is hereby given to the holders of debentures issued by the Eastbrook Borough Council, the Wanganui Borough Council, the Wanganui East Borough Council, the Castlecliff Town Board, the Gonville Town Board, and the Wanganui City Council in respect of the above-mentioned loans (the districts of the Eastbrook Borough Council, the Wanganui East Borough Council, the Castlecliff Town Board, and the Gonville Town Board, and the Borough of Wanganui having become the district of the City of Wanganui) and the liabilities for the said loans having thereupon become the liabilities of the said city, that it is intended to convert all such debentures (except those in respect of which dissent is duly signified) into new debentures having new maturity dates and bearing interest at £4 5s. per cent. per annum in denominations of £100 each unless other denominations are specially arranged.

The conversion will take place from the 1st day of February, 1934.

Applications for conversion must be made in writing and be accompanied by the securities to which it relates.

Dissent from the conversion of any existing debentures may be signified by the holder only by notice in writing delivered to the City Treasurer of the City of Wanganui at the Wanganui City Council Chambers, St. Hill Street, Wanganui, on or before the 31st day of January, 1934.

If notice of dissent from the conversion of any debentures is not received by that date the debentures will be converted. The rate of interest on any debentures in respect of which dissent is signified as aforesaid will by virtue of section 18 of the above-mentioned Act be reduced to two-thirds of the original rate as from the 1st day of February, 1934.

Further particulars as to the new debentures and the conversion generally may be obtained from the City Treasurer of the City of Wanganui at the address aforesaid.
