WELLINGTON CITY CONVERSION LOAN NO. 1, 1934.

Resolution making Special Rate.

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 4th day of December, 1933 :—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and the Wellington City Loans Conversion Order, 1933, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the new securities authorized to be issued by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act and Order in conversion of existing securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, and also the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the unconverted securities issued in respect of such loans, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and eight one-hundredths of a penny (1⁸⁄₁₀₀d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the district being the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the first day of February, 1959, or until all such securities are fully paid off.

WELLINGTON CITY LOANS CONVERSION ORDER, 1933.

I, THOMAS CHARLES ATKINSON HISLOP, Mayor of the City of Wellington, do hereby certify that pursuant to the provisions of subsection (2) of section 9 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, a resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 20th day of November, 1933, and confirmed on the 4th day of December, 1933, providing for the issue under Part II of that Act of new securities in conversion of existing securities issued in respect of the loans set forth in the First Schedule to the Wellington City Loans Conversion Order, 1933, as published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 23rd November, 1933, No. 78, pages 2825 and 2826.

IN LIQUIDATION.

AT a special general meeting of the shareholders of Browne’s Motor Body Works, Limited, held in the office of the company at Temuka on the 27th November, 1933, a special resolution was passed that the company be wound up voluntarily. ARTHUR ELLIS, Dunedin, and NORMAN HILL BROWNE, Temuka, were appointed Liquidators.

NOTICE is hereby given that an order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Hamilton District, dated the 16th day of November, 1933, confirming the reduction of capital of the above-named company from £25,000 to £12,500, and a minute (approved by the Court) showing with respect to the capital of the company (as altered) the several particulars required by the above-mentioned Act were registered by the Assistant Registrar of Companies at Auckland on the 29th day of November, 1933.

WELLINGTON CITY, NORTHLAND, AND WADESTOWN WATER-SUPPLY RENEWAL LOAN, 1934.

Resolution making Special Rate.

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 4th day of December, 1933 :—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twenty-two thousand five hundred and fifty pounds (£22,550), to be known as “The Wellington City, Northland, and Wadestown Water-supply Renewal Loan, 1934,” authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a loan of twenty-two thousand five hundred and fifty pounds (£22,550) which matures on the 1st day of March, 1934, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fiftieth of a penny (1/50d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years from the 1st day of March, 1934, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting duly convened and held at the registered office of the company, 36 Majoribanks Street, Wellington, on Wednesday, 15th November, 1933, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—

“That it is proved to our satisfaction that this company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue in business and that it be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. A. E. IRVING, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

All persons, firms, and corporations having claims against the said company are hereby required to forward particulars of such claims to the Liquidator at the address given below on or before 23rd December, 1933.
