Lands in Otago Land District, Otago Mining District,
for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 8th November, 1933.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections
are open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock
p.m., on Monday, 11th December, 1933.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday,
13th December, 1933, at 10.30 a.m., but if any applicant is
unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board
or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants.
The lands are offered in terms of section 153 of the Land
Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under
the surface shall pertain to the lessees whose rights shall be
to the surface soil only.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—OTAGO MINING DISTRICT.—SECOND-
CLASS LAND.
Vincent County.—Town of Clyde.
SECTIONS 1, 2, 9, and 10, Block LI: Area, 20 acres 2 roods
30 perches. Capital value, £25; half-yearly rent, 10s.
Weighted with £13 12s. 6d. (to be paid in cash) for improve-
ments, consisting of boundary-fencing.
Sections 3 and 8, Block LI: Area, 12 acres 0 roods 1 perch.
Capital value, £12 10s.; half-yearly rent, 5s.
Weighted with £6 10s. (to be paid in cash) for improvements,
consisting of boundary-fencing.
The sections are situated in the Township of Clyde, about
a quarter of a mile from the Railway-station and half a mile
from the Post-office, and comprise practically all steep hillside
with a south-westerly aspect, growing good tussock and other
rough feed in the summer. The soil is of a gravelly nature with
rocky outcrops, resting on a gravel and rock formation. The
sections are not permanently watered but sometimes surplus
water is available from the Clyde Town supply.

The Township of Pembroke is situated on Lake Wanaka,
199 miles north-west from Dunedin, and is unsurpassed as a
tourist and health resort. Post and telegraph and money-
order offices. The township is situated along the edge of
the lake, while the sections, which comprise good building-
sites, are situated close to the recreation-ground and tennis
courts.
