Regulations under the Health Act, 1920, as to Quarantine.—

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of October, 1933.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Health Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations in amendment of the Quarantine Regulations, 1921 (hereinafter referred to as “the said regulations”), made by Order in Council on the fourteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the Gazette on the seventeenth day of the same month, at page 2751, and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four.

REGULATIONS.

  1. REGULATION 4 of the said regulations is hereby revoked and the following substituted :—

  2. The master of every ship liable to quarantine shall hoist the appropriate signal before the ship comes within one league of any port at which she is about to call and shall keep such signal so hoisted until pratique is granted or the ship is released from quarantine, that is to say :—

(a) In the daytime—

Q flag . . . . My ship is “healthy” and I request free pratique.

Q flag over first substitute (QQ) My ship is “suspect”—i.e., I have had cases of infectious diseases more than five days ago, or there has been unusual mortality among the rats on board my ship.

Q flag over L flag (QL) My ship is “infected”—i.e., I have had cases of infectious diseases less than five days ago.

(b) By night—

Red light over a white I have not received free pratique. (the lights to be not more than 6 ft. apart)

  1. Regulation 25 (as heretofore amended) of the said regulations is hereby revoked, and the form numbered (12) in the First Schedule thereto is hereby deleted therefrom.

Warrant authorizing the Patangata County Council to construct a Bridge over the Tukituki River, at Waipukurau, on the Wellington-Napier via Wairarapa Main Highway (together with Approaches thereto), and apportioning the Cost.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Patangata County Council to construct the bridge (together with approaches thereto) described in the Schedule hereto ; and I do also declare that the cost thereof, less such contribution (if any) as may be made thereto by the Government of New Zealand or the Main Highways Board, shall be borne by the Patangata County Council, the Waipawa County Council, the Waipukurau Borough Council, and the Waipukurau County Council in the following proportions—viz., the Patangata County Council shall pay twenty-seven and one-half (27½) per centum, the Waipawa County Council shall pay thirty (30) per centum, the Waipukurau Borough Council shall pay twenty-five (25) per centum, and the Waipukurau County Council shall pay seventeen and one-half (17½) per centum of such cost respectively ; and I do further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Waipawa County Council, the Waipukurau Borough Council, and the Waipukurau County Council shall be paid from time to time, in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the said Councils within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Patangata County Council, and all such payments shall be made from time to time to the Clerk of the Patangata County Council for and on behalf of the said Councils :

And I do hereby revoke the Warrant dated the fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 27 of the tenth day of the same month, authorizing the Patangata County Council to construct a bridge over the Tukituki River, on the Wellington-Napier via Wairarapa Main Highway (together with approaches thereto), and apportioning the cost.

SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, over the Tukituki River, at Waipukurau, on the Wellington-Napier via Wairarapa Main Highway (together with approaches thereto), on the boundary between the County of Waipawa and the Borough of Waipukurau. As the site of the said bridge and approaches is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 85944, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 2nd day of November, 1933.

Warrant authorizing the Pohangina County Council to construct a Bridge over the Oroua River at Te Awa, and apportioning the Cost.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Pohangina County Council to construct the bridge described in the Schedule hereto ; and I do also declare that the cost thereof, less the contribution being made thereto by the Government of New Zealand, shall be borne by the Pohangina County Council and the Kiwitea County Council as follows, viz. : The Kiwitea County Council shall pay the sum of six hundred pounds (£600) and the Pohangina County Council shall pay the balance of such cost respectively ; and I do further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Kiwitea County Council shall be paid from time to time, in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed, to the Pohangina County Council out of the funds of the Kiwitea County Council within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Pohangina County Council, and all such payments shall be made from time to time to the Clerk of the Pohangina County Council for and on behalf of the Kiwitea County Council.

SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge over the Oroua River, at Te Awa, situated on the boundary between the Kiwitea and Pohangina Counties, in the Wellington Land District. As the site of the said bridge is more particularly delineated on the plans marked P.W.D. 86319 and 86033, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of November, 1933.

Exempting Crown Lands from certain Provisions of the Mining Act, 1926.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section twenty of the Mining Act, 1926, it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, exempt any Crown lands from mining, or from any specified mining purpose, or from that Act, or any specified provisions of that Act ; and that the lands to which any such notice relates shall be specified therein by words of particular description :

And whereas it is desirable that the Crown land specified in the Second Schedule hereto shall, subject to all existing registered mining privileges, be exempted from the provisions of the Mining Act, 1926, and its amendments, set out in the First Schedule hereto :
