  1. Traffic to or from Kioreroa and Opua Wharves—continued.

  2. The Department may require owners to unload timber from the wharf at Opua. For unloading performed by the Department the following charges will be made, per 100 superficial feet :—

At the skids .. .. .. .. .. 0 0½

  1. All logs unloaded at the skids shall be taken delivery of by consignees in the harbour within the booms. Delivery will be deemed to be complete when the logs are placed within the booms.

  2. Tallying, Auckland Wharves.

For tallying goods of Classes A, B, C, and D, except sugar, to or from ships at the Auckland wharves a charge of 9d. per ton, weight or measurement at the option of the Department, will be made. Minimum charge, 9d.

For tallying sugar to or from ships at the Auckland wharves, and golden syrup or treacle when such are loaded simultaneously with sugar, a charge of 2d. per ton will be made. Minimum charge, 9d.

Consignments of basic slag and artificial manures loaded ex ship at Auckland direct into railway-wagons and tallied by the Department will be charged 9d. per ton for such services.

  1. Delivery of Goods and Minimum Charges, North Island Main Line and Branches.

Goods of Classes A, B, C, and D (except otherwise specified) consigned as under will be delivered within the areas as determined by the Department in that behalf :—

General Delivery. Special Delivery as per Local Rates.
From To
Any station Frankton Junction. Hamilton. Cambridge. Rotorua. Featherston. Carterton. Masterton.
  • This local rate includes collection at Palmerston North of consignments of 5 cwt. and over within the area as determined by the Department.

EXCEPTIONS TO THE GENERAL DELIVERY.

Station. Goods.
Frankton Junction, Hamilton, Cambridge Pianos, plate glass, household removals, aeroplanes, boats, empty tanks, creamery and freezing vats, theatrical luggage and scenery, show exhibits, side-shows, contractors’ plant, all vehicles, machines and machinery exceeding 7 cwt. per package, agricultural machinery consigned to Hamilton and charged at the local rate of 40s. per ton, any package exceeding 7 cwt. in weight or 20 ft. in length, packages of a bulky nature involving special cartage, benzine, kerosene, and similar oils, and agricultural machinery set up.
Rotorua Pianos, plate glass, fish, household removals, aeroplanes, boats, empty tanks, creamery vats, theatrical luggage and scenery, show exhibits, side-shows, contractors’ plant, all vehicles, any package exceeding 7 cwt. in weight or 20 ft. in length, any goods involving special cartage arrangements, and agricultural machinery set up.
Featherston, Carterton, Masterton Pianos, fish, household removals, theatrical luggage and scenery, show exhibits, side-shows, contractors’ plant, and any consignment requiring special delivery arrangements.
