All charges on goods and live-stock consigned to ports on the Kaipara, and from ports on the Kaipara to flag stations must be prepaid.

The Department is not responsible for steamer services, and is not answerable for their fulfilment.

7. Timber Traffic, Kaihu Section.

The Department may require owners to unload timber from the railway-wagons at Dargaville. For unloading performed by the Department at Dargaville the following charges will be made, per 100 superficial feet:—

8. Traffic to or from Kioreroa and Opua Wharves.

9. Except otherwise specified, goods of Classes A, B, C, D, and H consigned to or from stations Paparoa to Whangae Bridge inclusive (including stations on the Kaikohe branch line) from or to ships at Kioreroa or Opua will be charged Class A according to the provisions of Reg. 129, General Scale of Charges.

10. Ships shall place goods in and take delivery of goods from trucks at Opua Wharf which shall, for the purpose of receipt and delivery of goods, be deemed to be a flag-station.

11. Except where otherwise provided charges at the rate of 6d. per ton (minimum charge 14s.) will be made for the use of the Department’s steam crane on Opua Wharf.

12. The haulage charge on goods between Whangarei and Kioreroa Wharf will be computed as per sub-paragraph (b), paragraph 1, Regulation 98, General Scale of Charges. Minimum loads General cargo, 3 tons per four-wheeled wagon; other goods, 6 tons per four-wheeled wagon. For handling and/or sorting at Whangarei charges as per sub-paragraph (a), paragraph 1, and sub-paragraph (a), paragraph 2, Regulation 98, General Scale of Charges will be enforced. The charges on goods conveyed to or from the wharf from or to stations beyond Whangarei to be computed on the Whangarei mileage plus two miles.
