"(4) Of the first members of the Board other than the
Chairman, two shall be appointed for a period of two years
and two shall be appointed for a period of three years from
the date of their respective appointments, and thereafter
every such member of the Board shall be appointed for a
period of two years from the date of his appointment.
"(5) On the termination of the period for which he was
appointed every person appointed as aforesaid shall cease to
be a member of the Board, but shall, unless otherwise dis-
qualified, be eligible for reappointment."
And whereas the respective terms of appointment of
Edward Newman, Esquire, C.M.G., of Marton, and George
Walter Reid, Esquire, B.Com., F.P.A., N.Z., of Dunedin,
as members of the Government Railways Board have expired:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers conferred on him by the said enactment, and of
all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby reappoint the said Edward
Newman, Esquire, and the said George Walter Reid, Esquire,
to be members of the Government Railways Board for a
further period of two years as from and including the ninth
day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the
three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the
Peace Act, 1927, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify
and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the
Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown
holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively
in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive
statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first
section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Appointment of Members of Medical Council under Medical
Practitioners Act, 1914.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section three of the Medical
Practitioners Act, 1914, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby reappoint
William Irving, M.D. Camb., M.R.C.S.E., L.R.C.P. Lond.,
William Newlands, M.B., B.S. Univ. Edin., F.R.C.S. Lond.,
and
John Patrick Daunt Leahy, C.B.E., M.B., and M.Surg.
Univ. Sydney, 1892; D.P.H. Camb., 1899,
to be members of the Medical Council under the aforesaid
Act; and do further appoint
Hugh Douglas, F.R.A.C.S., M.B., C.M. Edin.,
to be a member of the said Council as from the first day of
October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section twenty-eight of the Mining
Act, 1926, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that,
from and after the date of the publication hereof in the
Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
available for mining at a depth below fifty feet from the
surface.
SCHEDULE.
All that area of land, known as Roxburgh Recreation Re-
serve, in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasure-
ment 232 acres 0 roods 30 perches, more or less, and being
Section 33, Block II, Teviot Survey District.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 20th day of October, 1933.
