COMMANDS.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. R. Cade, M.C., v.d., The Wellington West Coast Regiment, relinquishes command of the 1st Battalion, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 6. Dated 30th September, 1933.

Major W. S. McCrorie, v.d., The Wellington West Coast Regiment, is appointed to command the 1st Battalion, and is granted the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 1st October, 1933.

THE WELLINGTON EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant L. B. Ballantyne, from the Canterbury Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 15th February, 1930. Dated 16th September, 1933.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation), 2nd Cadet Battalion, are confirmed :—

Captain R. E. Murray, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, with seniority from 5th December, 1930, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 11th September, 1933.

Lieutenant C. Meachen, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 11th September, 1933.

Douglas George Edwards to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st June, 1931, and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 16th September, 1933.

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) W. J. E. Eason, 1st Cadet Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 20th September, 1933.

THE WELLINGTON WEST COAST REGIMENT.

The Reverend W. R. Hutchison, Chaplain, 3rd Class (Presbyterian), is transferred from R.D. 10 to R.D. 7. Dated 16th September, 1933.

TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Taumarunui, taken on the 27th day of September, 1933, on the proposal of the Taumarunui Borough Council to borrow the sum of £5,800 for the purpose of a new water-supply, —

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 190.

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 103.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
