of licenses to occupy foreshore and land below low-water mark within the limits of the harbour and of the grant of authority to construct harbour-works thereon.

  1. If the company fails or neglects, within twelve months from the date hereof, to proceed with the construction of the harbour-works deemed by the Minister to be necessary for the improvement of the harbour, this Order in Council shall immediately determine.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

Provisions of the Harbours Act, 1923, which shall apply as if the company were a Harbour Board within the meaning of the Harbours Act, 1923 :-

Declaring Land in the North Auckland Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and five of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the areas of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and shall hereafter form part of the Parahi Settlement.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those areas in the North Auckland Land District, Otamatea County, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 21Β·104 perches, more or less, being Allotments 187 to 193, Parish of Omaru.

Also all that area in the North Auckland Land District, Otamatea County, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 5 perches, more or less, being Allotment 194, Parish of Omaru.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plans marked L. and S. 19472c and 19472D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North Auckland plans 21885, 22437, and 25777.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 28th day of August, 1933.

Members of Island Council of Penrhyn appointed.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

PURSUANT to section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby appoint Philip John Woonton, of Omoka, and Hiro Hapai, of Tetautua, to be members of the Island Council of Penrhyn during his pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu respectively of Hiro and Taki-Ika Tamamate, whose appointments are hereby revoked.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 23rd day of August, 1933.

PURSUANT to section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby appoint Abela Williams, of Tauhunu, to be a member of the Island Council of Manihiki during his pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu of John Dean (deceased).

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 23rd day of August, 1933.

Certain Birds declared to be absolutely protected.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section three of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and after the date hereof the birds known as Eastern golden plover (Charadrius dominicus), Knot (Tringa Canutus), and Turnstone (Morinella interpres) shall cease to be included in the Third Schedule of the said Act, and shall from the said date be deemed to be included in the First Schedule of the said Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 23rd day of August, 1933.

Regulations under the Government Railways Act, 1926.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Government Railways Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Government Railways Board hereby resolves to amend the regulations made under the Government Railways Act, 1926, on the 21st day of January, 1930, and published in the Gazette on the thirtieth day of January, 1930, at page 189 (hereinafter referred to as the "said regulations"), in the manner hereinafter set forth : And the Government Railways Board hereby further resolves that the amendments hereby made shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1932.

  1. By revoking that portion of the First Schedule to the said regulations relating to the First Division, and substituting in lieu thereof the following :-
