THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Dunedin
City Council, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL.

RESULT OF LOAN POLL.

In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of
a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Dunedin, held on
the 15th day of August, 1933, on a proposal to raise a
loan of one hundred and eighty thousand pounds
(£180,000) for the purpose of augmenting the water-
supply of the city by bringing in the waters of Deep
Creek.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the above-recited Act, I hereby
give public notice that the result of the aforesaid poll was
as follows:—

Votes.
Number of votes recorded for the proposal .. 5,334
Number of votes recorded against the proposal .. 961
I have therefore to declare the said proposal to be carried.

Hauraki Plains Drainage Area.—Notice of making and levying
Rates.

I, ETHELBERT ALFRED RANSOM, Minister of Lands,
in the exercise of powers conferred upon me by the
Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, do hereby make and levy on the
unimproved value of all lands within the district constituted
under the said Act the general rates to meet maintenance
costs for the period 1st April, 1933, to 31st March, 1934, as
described in the Schedule hereto.

The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on
the 25th August, 1933.

The rate-book of the district is open for inspection at the
office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s
Office, Room 44, Government Buildings, Customs Street,
Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office
of the Chief Drainage Engineer, at Kerepeehi, at all times at
which those offices are open for the transaction of public
business.

SCHEDULE.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as
Class A by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act,
twopence and seventy-three one-hundredths of a penny
(2·73d.) in the pound.

Class B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified
as Class B, one penny and fifty-six one-hundredths of a
penny (1·56d.) in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified
as Class C, thirty-nine one-hundredths of a penny (0·39d.)
in the pound.

Notice of making and levying General Rates.—Waihi Drainage
Area.

I, ETHELBERT ALFRED RANSOM, Minister of Lands,
in the exercise of the powers conferred upon me by
the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, do
hereby make and levy on the unimproved value of all land
within the Pukehina Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area
constituted under the said Act the general rates described in
the First Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of
all land included in the Central Subdivision the general rate
described in the Second Schedule hereto, and on the unim-
proved value of all land in the Kaikokopu Subdivision the
general rates described in the Third Schedule hereto, such
respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance
costs for the period 1st April, 1933, to 31st March, 1934.

The amount of such rates (together with the annually
recurring special rates already made and levied) will be pay-
able in one sum on the 30th August, 1933, to the Collector
of Rates, Room 44, First Floor, Government Buildings,
Customs Street, Auckland. The rate-book will be open for
inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, and a copy
of same will be available for inspection at the office of Mr.
H. W. Earp, Clerk, Kaituna River Board, Te Puke, at all
times those offices are open for the transaction of public
business.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

PUKEHINA SUBDIVISION.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as
Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under
section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928,
sevenpence and ninety-five one-hundredths of a penny
(7·95d.) in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all land so classified
as Class C, threepence and fifty-three one-hundredths of a
penny (3·53d.) in the pound.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

CENTRAL SUBDIVISION.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as
Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under
section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928,
fivepence and thirty-two one-hundredths of a penny (5·32d.)
in the pound.

THIRD SCHEDULE.

KAIKOKOPU SUBDIVISION.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as
Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under
section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928,
threepence and forty-five one-hundredths of a penny (3·45d.)
in the pound.

Class B: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as
Class B, twopence and sixty-eight one-hundredths of a
penny (2·68d.) in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all land so classified
as Class C, one penny and fifty-three one-hundredths of a
penny (1·53d.) in the pound.

Making and levying General Rates.—Poukawa Drainage Area.

I, ETHELBERT ALFRED RANSOM, Minister of Lands,
in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the
Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, do hereby
make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within
the Poukawa Drainage Area, constituted under the said Act,
the general rates described in the Schedule hereto, such rates
being for the purpose of covering for the period from the
1st day of April, 1933, to the 31st day of March, 1934, the
cost of administration of the said Act, including the mainten-
ance of works constructed under that Act, in the said area,
and I direct that the said rates (together with the annually
recurring special rates already made and levied) shall be
payable in one sum on the 30th day of August, 1933, to
the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, Post-
office Buildings, Napier. The rate-book is kept at the office
of the Collector of Rates aforesaid, where it is available for
inspection at all times at which that office is open for the
transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as
Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under
section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928,
fourpence and thirty-one one-hundredths of a penny
(4·31d.) in the pound.

Class B: On the unimproved value of all land so classified
as Class B, seventy-two one-hundredths of a penny (0·72d.)
in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all land so classified
as Class C, fourteen one-hundredths of a penny (0·14d.) in
the pound.
