Order in Council varying certain of the Determinations in connection with the Borrowing and Repayment of Portion—viz., £14,400—of the Central Electric-power Board's Loan of £40,000.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of August, 1933.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the twenty-ninth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and subject to the determinations as to the borrowing and repayment therein set out, consent was given to the raising by the Central Electric-power Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) of the sum of forty thousand pounds (£40,000), by a loan to be known as “Special Loan, 1931” (hereinafter called “the said loan”):
And whereas certain of the determinations aforesaid are that the said loan may be raised at a rate of interest not exceeding five pounds (£5) per centum per annum, for a term of twenty-six years, and that provision for the repayment thereof shall be made by the establishment of a sinking fund of not less than two per cent. :
And whereas by reason of section six of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, it is not now lawful for the said local authority to raise any unraised portion of the said loan at a rate of interest in excess of four pounds five shillings (£4 5s.) per centum per annum :
And whereas the sum of fourteen thousand four hundred pounds (£14,400), being portion of the said loan, has not yet been raised, and it is expedient that the said local authority may be authorized to raise the said sum of £14,400 on the instalment-repayment system over a period not exceeding twenty (20) years :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and by section thirty-two of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby vary certain of the determinations aforesaid by prescribing that the said sum of fourteen thousand four hundred pounds (£14,400), or any part thereof, may be raised by the said local authority upon terms of making such sum, together with interest thereon at a rate not exceeding the aforesaid rate of £4 5s. per centum per annum, repayable by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over a term not exceeding twenty (20) years.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of August, 1933.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, consent was given to the raising by the Petone Borough Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) of an amount of £10,000, being portion of a loan of £35,000 known as the “Street-widening Loan, 1930,” at a rate of interest not exceeding five pounds ten shillings (£5 10s.) per centum per annum, upon terms of making such amount, together with interest thereon, repayable by instalments extending over a period not exceeding thirty-six years and a half :
And whereas no part of such amount of £10,000 has yet been raised, and by reason of section six of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, it is not now lawful for the said local authority to raise any part thereof at a rate of interest in excess of four pounds eight shillings (£4 8s.) per centum per annum, and it is expedient that the said local authority may be authorized to raise the sum of six thousand pounds (£6,000), being part of the said amount of £10,000, on the instalment-repayment system over a period not exceeding twenty (20) years :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby prescribe that the said sum of six thousand pounds (£6,000), or any part thereof, may be raised by the said local authority upon terms of making such sum together with interest thereon at a rate not exceeding £4 8s. per centum per annum repayable by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over a period not exceeding twenty (20) years.

Order in Council authorizing the Borrowing by the Taranaki County Council by way of Hypothecation of Debentures issued in respect of a Loan of £600.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of August, 1933.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, did consent to the borrowing by the Taranaki County Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) of the sum of six hundred pounds (£600) by a loan to be known as “The Dover Road Loan, 1932,” and in giving such consent did by such Order in Council determine certain matters in connection with the borrowing and repayment of such moneys :
And whereas the said local authority, pending the borrowing of the said sum in accordance with the determinations expressed in the aforesaid Order in Council, as modified by section six of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and with the precedent consent of the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand given by Order in Council dated the second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, under section seven of such last-mentioned Act, is desirous of borrowing such sum by the hypothecation or mortgage, pursuant to section thirty-four of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, of the debenture or debentures authorized to be issued in respect of the said loan :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the said local authority, pending the borrowing of the said sum of six hundred pounds (£600) in accordance with the determinations (modified as aforesaid) expressed in the said Order in Council of the twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, borrowing such sum by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debenture or debentures, at a rate of interest not exceeding five pounds (£5) per centum per annum.
