Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 1st August, 1933.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o'clock p.m., on Monday, 21st August, 1933.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 23rd August, 1933, at 10 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.--THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Whangamomona County.--Pouatu Survey District.
(National Endowment.)
SECTION 13, Block VII : Area, 313 acres 1 rood 27 5 perches. Capital value, £80; half-yearly rent, £1 12s.
Loaded with £475 for improvements, comprising dwelling, approximately 70 chains of fencing, and felling and grassing.
This amount may be paid in cash, or by an instalment mortgage, term twenty-five years and a half, half-yearly instalment £16 12s. 6d., to a discharged soldier selector, or term twenty-four years and a half, half-yearly instalment £17 16s. 3d., to other purchasers.
A grazing property situated on the Raekohua Road, one mile from Tangarakau Post-office, School, amd Railway-station. and eight miles from Kohuratahi Saleyards. The access is from Tahora by formed road, three miles of which are unmetalled. About 150 acres hilly country, balance steep and broken, the soil being a light loam on sandstone formation watered by streams. The property is subdivided into three paddocks. Approximately 180 acres are in pasture, the remaining 133 acres being in natural bush.

Reserve in Nelson Land District for Lease by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 20th July, 1933.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned stockresting reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Tuesday, the 5th September, 1933, at 11 o'clock a.m., under the provisions of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.
PART Section 8, Block I, Motupiko Survey District : Area, 50 acres. Upset annual rental, £9. Term of lease: Seven years from the 1st January, 1934, without right of renewal.
Situated at Kikiwa, on the Main Top house Road. All flat to undulating land, and adjoining the Motupiko River on the back boundary. Soil of fair to poor quality.
Terms and Conditions of Lease.

  1. Rent is payable half-yearly in advance on the 1st January and 1st July in each and every year.
  2. No compensation for improvements effected.
  3. Lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, sweetbrier, and other noxious weeds on the land, and shall remove or cause to be removed all noxious weeds now growing upon the said land.
  4. Free right of ingress, egress, and regress over and upon the said land shall be given at all times to the general public with permission to hold picnics and sports meetings.
  5. Lessee shall pay all rates, taxes, and other assessments accruing upon the said land.
  6. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions are violated.
  7. Lessee shall provide accommodation at all times for travelling stock at the following rates:-For cattle not exceeding ten in number, 3d. per head per day; exceeding ten, 2d. per head per day.
    For sheep not exceeding thirty in number, 2d. per head per day; exceeding thirty, ld. per head per day.

    NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, 12th September, 1933.
    Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Thursday, 14th September, 1933, at 10.30 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
    The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.
    SCHEDULE.
    NELSON LAND DISTRICT.--THIRD-CLASS LAND.
    Waimea County.--Maungatapu Survey District.
    SECTIONS 1 and 2, Block III : Area, 1,136 acres. Capital value, £284; half-yearly rent, £5 13s. 8d.
    A grazing property, unsubdivided, situated on the Heringa Track, nine miles from Rai Falls Post-office and School, fifty miles from Blenheim Railway-station, fifteen miles from Flat Creek Dairy Factory, and fifteen miles from Canvastown Saleyards. Cream picked up three miles from the property.
    The section is eight miles from Rai Valley by metalled dray road and one mile by pack-track. The sections are well watered by permanent streams.
    The sections are all steep country, 350 acres have been cleared but are now in fern balance light birch bush. Would graze a few sheep when area recleared and native grasses are available. Soil is poor, resting on slate formation. Elevation, 700 ft. to 2,200 ft. Blackberries along road frontage. Carrying capacity at present is nil, and future carrying capacity would depend on development by selector. No buildings and no improvements.
    Takaka County.--Totaranui Survey District.
    Sections 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, Block IV, and Sections 6 and 7, Block VI : Area, 784 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £280; half-yearly rent, £5 12s.
    Improvements, valued at £344, consist of felling and grassing, 320 chains of fencing, wool-shed 24 ft. by 36 ft., and two small whares. The successful applicant will be required to pay the sum of £4 in cash and to execute an instalment mortgage to Superintendent, State Advances Department, to secure £340 for a term of thirty years at 6 per cent. per annum interest.
    This property is suitable for grazing sheep and cattle only. The land is situated on Awaroa Inlet, nine miles from Wainui Post-office, three miles and a half from the Awaroa School, nineteen miles from Takaka Dairy Factory, and twenty-one miles from Takaka Saleyards. Access to Takaka is by good road for twelve miles, balance not metalled. Watered by permanent streams. Soil light, resting on granite formation. The sections are mostly easy and undulating but part hilly. There are no subdivision fences and the sections are badly infested with foxglove. With the exception of 506 acres the property is practically all fern and rubbish. Of the latter area, 235 acres had been sown but have now mostly reverted to fern.
    The present carrying capacity is estimated at fifty dry sheep and twenty steers or heifers. If the bush were felled the carrying capacity could be increased considerably, but unless heavily stocked would soon revert to fern.
    Waimea County.--Wangapeka Survey District.

    Sections 14 and 15, Block III : Area, 240 acres. Capital value, £72; half-yearly rent, £1 8s. 10d.
    Weighted with £170 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising 85 acres in fair pasture and 155 acres in worn-out pasture.
    This is a grazing property and has not been subdivided. The land is situated at the head of the Ellis River, three miles from Baton Post-office, nine miles from Woodstock School, thirty-two miles from Brightwater Dairy Factory, and fifteen miles from Tapawera Saleyards. The road is in fair condition from its junction with the main Motueka River Road. Soil poor quality resting on slaty schist formation; watered by permanent streams. Mostly hilly steep land.
    Estimated carrying capacity 140 dry sheep. There is a certain amount of foxglove on this area.
