Minister's Decisions under Sales Tax Act, 1932-33.
Customs Department, Wellington, 31st July, 1933.
IT is hereby notified for public information that the Minister of Customs has decided to interpret the Sales Tax Act, 1932-33
(hereinafter referred to as "the Act"), as under:
It should be understood that the decisions contained herein may be revised from time to time in the light of further
information which may be obtained by the Minister.

as defined in the Schedule to the Board of Trade (Sale of Garments made to Measure) Regulations, 1925, published in the New Zealand Gazette of 12th February, 1925, manufactured by
a person, company, or firm licensed under the Act as a manufacturing retailer, the sale value
of such tailor-made garments for the purposes of paragraph (b) of subsection (l) of section 13
of the Act shall be the price for which the said garments are bona fide sold by retail less a
deduction from such price of seventeen and one-half per centum.
The following goods are to be regarded as (a) included or (b) not included under the exemptions
set out in Column No. 1 (below):

| Machinery, &c., of a class or kind which, if they had been approved by the Minister under Tariff item 352 of the Customs Tariff, would have been admitted thereunder | Circuit breakers for electric motors. |
Timber, viz.: White-pine or pinus insignis, whether in logs, rough hewn, rough sawn, or dressed Starters or controllers for electric motors (Tariff item 338 (2))
