Resignation of Producers’ Representative on the New Zealand Honey Control Board.—(Notice No. Ag. 3127.)

Amending Regulations under the Orchard and Garden Diseases Act, 1928, in regard to the Importation of Fruit or Plants into New Zealand.—(Notice No. Ag. 3131.)

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 12th day of July, 1933.

THE RIGHT HON. J. G. COATES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Orchard and Garden Diseases Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, being of the opinion that the fruit, the introduction of which into New Zealand is hereby prohibited, is likely to introduce into New Zealand Mediterranean or West Australian fruit-fly (Halterophora capitata, described also as Ceratitis capitata), doth hereby make the following regulations in further amendment of the regulations under the Orchard and Garden Diseases Act, 1908, enuring under the said Act, governing the importation of fruit or plants into New Zealand made by Order in Council on the twenty-third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and published in the Gazette on the second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, at page 3100 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”), and doth hereby declare that the regulations hereby made shall come into force on the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette.

REGULATIONS.

  1. NOTWITHSTANDING anything to the contrary in the principal regulations in so far as they relate to the admission of fruit, the introduction into New Zealand of any fruit from any country in which Mediterranean or West Australian fruit-fly (Halterophora capitata, described also as Ceratitis capitata) is known to exist is absolutely prohibited.

  2. Every shipment of fruit which by the principal regulations and these regulations may be introduced into New Zealand shall, in addition to the certificates required by the principal regulations to accompany such fruit to New Zealand, be accompanied by a certificate signed by an officer of the Department of Agriculture or other Department performing the functions or duties relating to horticulture in the country where such fruit was grown, and certifying that Mediterranean or West Australian fruit-fly (Halterophora capitata, described also as Ceratitis capitata) does not exist in the country where such fruit was grown :

Provided that the aforesaid certificate may be combined with the appropriate certificate required by the principal regulations to accompany fruit the introduction of which is permitted under the principal regulations and these regulations and if so combined may be in or to the effect of the form set out in the Schedule hereto.

Rangitikei County Council.—Cancellation of Unexercised Loan Authority.

In the matter of section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

WHEREAS the Rangitikei County Council has been duly authorized to borrow by way of special loan the sum of one thousand pounds (£1,000) for forming and metalling Toetoe Road, and the consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loan was given by Order in Council made on the 25th day of September, 1931, and published in the Gazette on the 1st day of October, 1931, at page 2885 :
