or any fodder or fittings pertaining to swine to be brought, moved, or removed,—
(a) From the said infected area to any other place; or
(b) Into the said infected area from any other place; or
(c) From any holding within the said infected area to any other holding within the said infected area:
Provided always that the provisions of this clause shall not be deemed to prohibit—
(i) The carriage of swine in a railway wagon or other vehicle by a continuous and uninterrupted journey from any place outside the said infected area to any approved slaughtering-place within the said infected area for the purpose of being immediately slaughtered there; or
(ii) The transport of any carcass or portion of a carcass that has been slaughtered at an approved slaughtering-place within the said infected area.
Provided also that for the purposes of this clause an “approved slaughtering-place” means the Wellington Municipal Abattoir or any other registered slaughtering-place in the said infected area for the time being approved as provided by the next succeeding clause hereof.
SLAUGHTERING OF SWINE.
- No owner of swine shall slaughter such swine or cause or permit such swine to be slaughtered within the said infected area, and no occupier of any land within the said infected area shall slaughter any swine or cause or permit any swine to be slaughtered on such land except,—
(a) For consumption on the premises where they were slaughtered; or
(b) In compliance with clause (2) hereof or in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (4) hereof; or
(c) At the Wellington Municipal Abattoir or at such other registered slaughtering-place as may from time to time be approved in writing for the time being for that purpose by an Inspector.
SICKNESS AND DEATHS TO BE REPORTED.
- Every person being the owner of any swine which are for the time being within the said infected area, or the occupier of any land within the said infected area, shall upon the occurrence of any sickness or death among swine of which such person is the owner, or (as the case may be) among swine for the time being on the land of which such person is the occupier, forthwith notify such occurrence in writing to the District Inspector at the office of the Department of Agriculture in Wellington, and in the event of death shall hold the carcass for examination by an Inspector and for disposal as an Inspector may direct.
FEEDING OF UNBOILED GARBAGE PROHIBITED.
- No person being the owner of any swine which are for the time being within the said infected area, or the occupier of any land within the said infected area, shall feed any unboiled household waste food, unboiled garbage, or unboiled meat-scraps to be fed to swine of which such person is the owner or (as the case may be) to swine for the time being on the land of which such person is the occupier.

NOTICE.—By the regulations of 1895 referred to above it is provided that if any person shall refuse or neglect to obey the direction of the Minister lawfully given thereunder he shall be liable, on conviction, to a penalty of not less than £5 nor more than £25.

Public Notice under the Stock Act, 1908, re Swine Fever.

IT is hereby notified for public information that, as swine fever has been determined to exist thereon, each of the several areas of land described in the Schedule hereto has, in pursuance of section 12 of the Stock Act, 1908, been declared to be an infected place from which no swine, fodder, or fittings shall be removed except under the direction of an Inspector.
