Heathcote County Council.—Cancellation of Unexercised Loan Authorities.
In the matter of section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
WHEREAS the Heathcote County Council has been duly authorized to borrow, by way of special loans, as mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto, the respective sums specified in the said first column, for the respective purposes set out therein against each loan respectively, and the consent of the Governor-General in Council thereto was given by Orders in Council as indicated in the fourth column of the said Schedule:
And whereas in respect of the sums stated in the said first column, there have been raised and borrowed for the purposes aforesaid the respective amounts stated in the second column of the said Schedule, and it has not been found necessary to borrow the whole of the loans so authorized:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has duly notified the Heathcote County Council in writing of his intention to cancel the loan authorities in so far as they have not been exercised:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, amended by section 46 of the Finance Act, 1931 (No. 4), and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Finance, do hereby cancel the authority of the Heathcote County Council to borrow, under the loan authorities referred to in the first column of the said Schedule, the respective sums stated in the third column of the said Schedule, being the amounts in respect of which the said loan authorities have not been exercised: Provided always that this cancellation is without prejudice to the validity in all respects of the loans set out in the second column of the said Schedule, already borrowed pursuant to the loan authorities herein mentioned.

Fixing the Amount of Special Orchard-tax payable in the Marlborough Commercial Fruit-growing District.—(Notice No. Ag. 3095.)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by subsection (3) of section 4 of the Orchard-tax Act, 1927, I, Charles Edward de la Barca Macmillan, Minister of Agriculture, hereby order and direct that, in addition to the general orchard-tax payable under section 3 of the said Act, the occupier of every orchard within the Marlborough Commercial Fruit-growing District shall in each year be liable to pay a special orchard-tax calculated at the rate of three shillings (3s.) for every acre or part of an acre comprised in his orchard, and do hereby revoke as from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the notice prescribing the amount of such special orchard-tax given under my hand on the 16th day of February, 1932, and published in the Gazette on the 18th day of the same month at page 352.

THE following special order made by the Weber County Council on 12th day of December, 1932, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

THAT in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Weber County Council hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, that the plant mentioned in the Schedule hereto is a noxious weed within the County of Weber.
