THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Nelson City Council, viz.:—
“The Nelson City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets of the City of Nelson, by resolution passed this sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to that portion of Hardy Street adjoining part Section 206, City of Nelson”;
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the northern side of the portion of Hardy Street (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.
SCHEDULE.
THE northern side of all that portion of street in the Nelson Land District, City of Nelson, known as Hardy Street, fronting part Section 206, City of Nelson. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 85393, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

PURSUANT to the authority vested in me by section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and by an Order in Council of the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, providing for the constitution of Island Councils in the Cook Islands, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby nominate and appoint

Appointment of Honorary Child Welfare Officer under the Child Welfare Act, 1925.

HIS Excellency the Governor General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
COMMANDS.
THE period of command of Colonel M. Aldred, v.d., 1st N.Z. Mounted Rifles Brigade, is extended to 31st May, 1934. The period of command of Lieutenant-Colonel W. C. H. Stevens, the Auckland Mounted Rifles, is extended to 31st May, 1934. The period of command of Lieutenant-Colonel R. D. McFarland, M.C., 1st Battalion, the Waikato Regiment, is extended to 31st May, 1934.
Lieutenant-Colonel C. E. Hercus, D.S.O., O.B.E., v.d., M.D., B.D.Sc., N.Z. Medical Corps, relinquishes command of the Otago University Medical Company, N.Z. Medical Corps. Dated 13th March, 1933.
Major R. A. H. Fulton, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed to command the Otago University Medical Company, N.Z. Medical Corps. Dated 14th March, 1933.
QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.
2nd Lieutenant R. J. Evans to be Lieutenant. Dated 13th September, 1932.
THE MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain B. A. Norman, from the Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles, to be Captain, with seniority from 15th May, 1930. Dated 29th March, 1933.
The commission granted to Bandmaster (Hon. Lieutenant) R. Cox is cancelled under section 5 (a), Defence Act, 1909. Dated 13th July, 1932.
Charles Pike to be Bandmaster, and is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 31st March, 1933.
THE WELLINGTON EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain B. A. Norman is transferred to the Manawatu Mounted Rifles. Dated 29th March, 1933.
Andrew Wood to be Bandmaster, and is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 17th March, 1933.
