WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of four thousand two hundred pounds (£4,200), to be known as the Wellington City Sanitation Loan 1893 Repayment Loan, 1933, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a loan of one hundred and sixty-five thousand pounds (£165,000), maturing on the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four five-hundredths of a penny (4/500d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of four (4) years from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, or until the loan is fully paid off.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.-The subscription is at the rate of £4 per annum, including postage, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. Single copies of the Gazette as follows :-

Ordinary Weekly Gazette : For the first 32 pages, 9d., increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.

Supplementary and Extraordinary Gazettes : For the first 8 pages, 6d.; over 8 pages and not exceeding 32 pages, 9d.; increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.

Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o'clock of the day preceding publication.

NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

ROLL OF HONOUR published by the Defence DEPARTMENT, giving-

(1) A list of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces killed in action, died of wounds inflicted, of accidents occurring, or disease contracted while on active service.

(2) Those who died after discharge from the New Zealand Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted or disease contracted while on active service.

(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease contracted while training with or attached to the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces of New Zealand.
