Notice of Intention to take Land in Block II, Belmont Survey District, and Block VIII, Paekakariki Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Porirua, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

Amending Warrant declaring Open Seasons for Imported and/or Native Game in certain Acclimatization Districts in so far as it affects the Waimate Acclimatization District, and declaring an Open Season for Native Game in the Waimate Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, James Alexander Young, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend the Warrant dated 17th March, 1933, made under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 16, of the 20th idem, at page 462, by deleting all that portion of such Warrant included under the heading “Waimate Acclimatization District,” and do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of May to the 31st day of July, 1933 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Waimate Acclimatization District, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17, of 12th March, 1925, at page 754, for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., grey duck, spoonbill duck, and black swan, and the period from the 1st day of May to the 7th day of May, 1933 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., paradise duck—subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill such native game in the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the Secretary of the Waimate Acclimatization Society, or any person authorized by such Secretary in that behalf, is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

  2. No person shall in any one day take or kill native game exceeding in number twenty-five head in all of grey duck, spoonbill duck, paradise duck, and black swan, or take or kill more than five head of paradise duck, or take or kill more than ten head of black swan.

  3. No person shall commence shooting earlier than one hour before sunrise or continue shooting later than one hour after sunset on any day during the open season.

  4. No person shall use live birds of any species as decoys, nor shall use artificial decoys so that more than twenty-five artificial decoys are used at any one time (whether by one or several persons) on any particular water within an area of less than one hundred yards square.

  5. No person shall use or cause to be used any motor-vehicle in connection with the taking or killing of native game: Provided that this condition shall not be so construed as to prohibit the use of any motor-vehicle for the purpose of travelling either generally or to or from a rendezvous.

  6. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable on conviction to a fine of £20.
