Loaded with the sum of £686 for improvements, consisting
of dwelling (in good condition), of six rooms and bathroom,
two chimneys, range, two open fireplaces, and petrol light;
outbuildings, including woolshed, cowbyre, and motor-shed;
yards and dip, plantation, and 464 chains fencing; such
amount to be paid by a cash deposit of £86, balance £600 to
be secured by instalment mortgage to State Advances
Superintendent, term thirty years, interest 6 per cent. per
annum.
Situatod on Coldstream Road, distant about five miles and
a half from Hinds Railway-station and Post-office, and about
four miles and a half from Lowcliffe School. Comprises light
and stony land resting on mainly shingle formation; all flat
and ploughable, suitable for sheep-farming. Land grows good
turnips. Subdivided into eight paddocks and watered by
county races. Condition of land is as follows: 127 acres in
fair pasture; 300 acres in worn-out pasture (160 acres of this
not sown down); balance 30 acres in natural state.
Improvements included in the capital value comprise
136 chains fencing valued at £68.

The sections are situated at Lake Rotoiti, and with the
exception of Section 81 have a frontage to View Road. Section
81 has a frontage to Hill Road. All of these sections have a
commanding view of the lake and are good building-sites.
The lake is a well-known holiday resort and is rapidly becoming
popular for holiday-makers, campers, and sportsmen. The
main highway from Blenheim to the West Coast passes the
township and access is therefore by good metalled motor road.
There is a Post-office and store in the township.
NOTE.—The areas are subject to slight amendment on
completion of survey.
Terms of Sale.
One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer,
and the balance with certificate of title fee (£1), within thirty
days thereafter.
If the purchaser fails to make the prescribed payment by
due date, the amount already paid shall be forfeited and the
contract for the sale be null and void.
The lands are described for the general information of
intending bidders, who are recommended, nevertheless, to
make a personal inspection, as the Department is not re-
sponsible for the absolute accuracy of any description.

Pastoral Run in Marlborough Land District for Selection by
Ballot.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral
run will be offered for selection on pastoral license
under Part VI of the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be
received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, up
to 4 p.m., on Tuesday, 4th April, 1933.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Thursday, 6th
April, 1933, at 11 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable
to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or
by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.
Awatere County.—Hodder Survey District.
(Crown land, 296 acres; national-endowment land, 1,420
acres.)
RUN 15: Area, 1,716 acres. Pastoral run, annual rent, £40.
Term of license: Twenty-one years.
Weighted with £842 for improvements, consisting of a
nine-roomed dwelling (in the past known as the Jordan
Accommodation House), chaff-house, stable, yards, water-
supply, 200 chains of subdivisional fencing, half share in
160 chains of boundary fencing, six acres of lucerne, and
general clearing and surface sowing. This amount may be
paid in cash or by a cash deposit, balance on mortgage.
The run is situated about thirty-six miles from Blenheim on
main Awatere Valley Road. Although hilly it is not steep
and is capable of a great deal of improvement. The major
portion is covered with manuka, but there is about 400 acres
in fairly good English grass.

Selection on Renewable Lease.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o'clock
p.m. on Monday, 10th April, 1933.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday,
12th April, 1933, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant
is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants.
The land is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act,
which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface
shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface
soil only.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—OTAGO MINING DISTRICT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Taieri County.—Strath Taieri Survey District.
SECTION 4, Block VI: Area, 22 acres 1 rood 8 perches.
Capital value, £110. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent,
£2 4s.
Weighted with £17 5s. for 34½ chains of road-line fencing,
which sum is payable in cash.
Situated about five miles from Middlemarch Railway-station,
Post-office, and School, on the Middlemarch-Hyde Road.
The section comprises for the most part river flat, balance
undulating. The soil is of a light loam resting on schist and
gravel formation. Water is available from the Taieri River.
The section would be suitable for a worker's home.
