Land Surveyor's Examination, March, 1933, Australia and
New Zealand.
The Survey Board of New Zealand,
Wellington, 16th February, 1933.
IT is hereby notified, for general information, that the
Survey Board, in conjunction with the Australian Sur-
veyors Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates for
registration as surveyor, commencing on Monday, 20th
March, 1933, at Wellington.
Candidates are notified that their applications, on the
proper form, must reach the Secretary of the Board not later
than Monday, 6th March, and that the examination fee
as undernoted must be paid at the same time to the Secretary,
from whom application forms and other particulars may be
obtained.
Candidates completing former sittings may sit in other
centres where there is a Chief Surveyor's office, on payment
of an extra fee of £1 1s. in addition to the ordinary fees which
are as under:
Completing in one or two compulsory subjects, fee of
£1 1s. per subject. (Physics-Geology-Forestry paper is
not included.)
Examination in all subjects, fee of £5 5s.

Great South Road Main Highway.--By-laws.
WHEREAS by section 9 of the Main Highways Act, 1922
(hereinafter called "the said Act"), the powers,
rights, duties, and liabilities vested in or imposed on the
Governor-General or Minister of Public Works (in the case of
Government roads), or vested in or imposed on any local
authority (in the case of highways other than Government
roads), are, in the case of main highways, transferred to and
vested in or imposed on the Main Highways Board (herein-
after called "the said Board"):
And whereas by authority of the said Act and of the Motor-
vehicles Act, 1924, and of all other powers in anywise enabling
it in that behalf, the said Board made on the 4th day of July,
1932, by-laws which were published in the Gazette dated the
7th day of July, 1932, at page 1614, in respect of that portion
of main highway known as the Great South Road (Bombay
Hills Deviation):
And whereas the said Board by a resolution duly passed at
a meeting held at Wellington on the 16th day of February,
1933, decided that such by-laws should be revoked:
Now, therefore, the said Board, acting by authority of the
said Act, and of the Motor-vehicles Act, 1924, and of all other
powers in anywise enabling it in this behalf, doth hereby
revoke the aforementioned by-laws as from the date of
publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Sale of Unclaimed Property.
Police Department,
Wellington, 22nd February, 1933.
IT is hereby notified that unclaimed property in the hands
of the police at the various police stations will, if not
claimed before Saturday, the 18th March, 1933, be sold
thereafter by public auction.
Particulars as to the time and place of sale may be obtained
from the Superintendent or Inspector of Police in charge of
the district.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1932.--Notice of Cancellation of Awards.
In the matter of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, and its amendments, and in the matter of the
industrial disputes specified in the First Column of the Schedule hereto.
WHEREAS the Conciliation Commissioner has in the case of each of the said disputes notified the Clerk of Awards that
a settlement of the dispute has not been arrived at by the Council of Conciliation appointed for the hearing thereof,
and whereas in accordance with section 7 (4) of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1932, every
award or industrial agreement theretofore binding on the parties to the dispute in connection with the industry to which
the dispute relates shall be deemed to be cancelled, and shall thereupon cease to be in force on the expiration of one month
from the date of the Commissioner's notification to the Clerk of Awards as aforesaid:
And whereas the date of the Commissioner's notification to the Clerk of Awards is in each case set forth in the Second
Column of the Schedule hereto.
Notice is hereby given that the Awards specified in the Third Column of the said Schedule are deemed to be cancelled
and cease to be in force on the expiration of one month from the respective dates set forth in the Second Column of
the said Schedule.
