And whereas the said requisition is signed by not less than two-thirds of the occupiers of tobacconists' shops within the said borough, notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 25 of the Shops and Offices Amendment Act, 1927, all other shops within the said borough in which smoking requisites are sold shall be closed at the same hours as are set out herein for tobacconists' shops.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 5th July, 1917, and the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 27th June, 1929, fixing the closing-hours of hairdressers and tobacconists' shops and of tobacconists' shops, respectively, in the Borough of Hastings, and the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 15th June, 1922, prohibiting the sale in the said borough of goods comprised in the trade of a tobacconist, shall be and are hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Position : Lat. 16° 08′ S., Long. 179° 56¾′ W.
Abridged description : Gp. Fl. (2) cv. 16 sec., 127 ft., 17 M. (U).
Alteration: On or about 26th December the character of the light will be altered from fixed to group flashing every sixteen seconds, thus: flash 0·8 sec., eclipse 2·0 sec., flash 0·8 sec., eclipse 12·4 sec.
During the alteration a temporary fixed white light will be exhibited.

MARINERS are hereby informed that an area inside the western part of the wharf is being reclaimed, and that it is dangerous to get inside of a line drawn 117° from an approximate position 92 yards 240° from the inner corner of the western end of Main Wharf.
