Fixing Date on which certain Returns under the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, are to be furnished.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 8th December, 1932.

PURSUANT to section 28 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, it is hereby notified that the returns, showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1932, shall be transmitted to the Fire Boards concerned in the manner prescribed by the said section, on or before the 28th February, 1933.

Returns in respect of the Auckland Metropolitan Fire District, comprising the City of Auckland, the Boroughs of Mount Eden, Mount Albert, Newmarket, Onehunga, and One Tree Hill, the Road Districts of Mount Roskill and Mount Wellington, and the Town District of Ellerslie, may be addressed care of the Secretary, Auckland Fire Board, Auckland.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand in Connection with Deaf, Dumb, and Blind Art Union, Sydney.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by her own or any fictitious or assumed name) or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Men’s Hairdressers’ and (2) Tobacconists’ Shops within the Borough of Hastings.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me from the occupiers of shops in each of the trades of (1) men’s hairdresser and (2) tobacconist within the Borough of Hastings, pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22 :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct that on and after the 19th day of December, 1932, all the said shops within the said borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6 p.m., and on Saturdays at 9.30 p.m. with the following exceptions—(1) Should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice observe pursuant to section 14 (2) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Thursday for such shop shall be 9.30 p.m.; (2) on the working-day immediately preceding “Peoples’ Day” of the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural Show, on the working-days in the period from the 20th December to the 31st December in each year (both dates inclusive), and on the working-days immediately preceding each of the “special days” mentioned in or coming within the meaning of section 26 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, there shall be no fixed closing-hour:
