ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 33 acres 2 roods 14 perches, more or less, being Sections 49 and 50, Town of Brighton View Extension No. 2, and Section 82, Block VIII, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 58, Town of Brighton View Extension No. 2, and bounded towards the north-east by Crown land, 200 links; towards the south-east by the Pacific Ocean, 10260 links; towards the north-west by the Brighton–Green Island Road, 190 links; towards the north-east by Allotment 1A, Land Transfer plan 2228, being a subdivision of Section 59, Block I, Otokia Survey District, 99 links; towards the north-west by Allotments 1A, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of said Land Transfer plan 2228, 700·2 links; towards the south-west by aforesaid Allotment 6, 72·42 links; towards the north-west by the Brighton–Green Island Road, 330·91 links; towards the north-east by Section 1, Town of Brighton View Extension No. 2, 150 links; towards the north-west by Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, of the aforesaid town, and Section 3, Block XVI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, 1117·1 links; towards the south-west by Section 6 of the aforesaid town, 150·5 links; towards the north-west by the Brighton–Green Island Road, 350·3 links; towards the north-east by Section 7 of the aforesaid town, 107·6 links; towards the north-west by Sections 7 to 48 of the aforesaid town, and the abuttals of two public roads, 4820·25 links; towards the south-west by said Section 48, 321·9 links; towards the north-west by the Brighton–Green Island Road, 1216·1 links; towards the north-east by Section 51 of the aforesaid town, 200 links; and towards the north-west by Sections 51 to 60 of the aforesaid town, 960 links, to the place of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

As the same is more particularly shown on the plan marked L. and S. 1/146D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Regulations under the Naval Defence Act, 1913, amended.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 7th day of December, 1932.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section twenty-five of the Naval Defence Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, the Governor-General, with the advice of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend and supplement the regulations referred to in the Schedule hereto as shown therein.


SCHEDULE.

REGULATIONS FOR THE GOVERNMENT AND PAYMENT OF THE NEW ZEALAND DIVISION OF THE ROYAL NAVY.

Chapter III.—Entry, Training, Advancement, Discharge, &c.: Men.

ARTICLE 57: Entry of Officers’ Stewards and Cooks.—Cancel paragraph 3 and substitute—

“3. Candidates under the age of eighteen should be entered as Boy Steward, and those over the age of eighteen as Assistant Steward or Officers’ Cook, 4th class.”

Chapter VII.—Full Pay and Allowances: Ship’s Company.

Article 137.—Cancel and substitute—

“137. Pay for performing Higher Duties.—If the necessity should arise for employing any person on the duty of a substantive rating more highly paid than his own, but of another class, or on the duties of a higher rating in his own particular class, he may receive the difference between the rate of pay of his own substantive rating and the lowest rate of pay of the more highly paid rating, subject to the conditions in the King’s Regulations and Admiralty Instructions. Difference of pay, however, is not to be authorized when the vacancy for the more highly paid rating can be filled by drafting. Approval for the payment of difference of pay includes approval for the credit of difference of deferred pay where applicable.”

Chapter X.—Victualling, Clothing, &c.

Article 228: General Mess Reports.—Cancel.

Article 232: Uniform Gratuities, Officers.—Cancel paragraph 5. Paragraphs 6 and 7 to be renumbered 5 and 6 respectively.

Chapter XI.—Passages.

Article 260: Passages of Royal Naval officers and their families—

Paragraph 1, line 7, for “institutions” substitute “instructions.”

Paragraph 7.—Cancel present paragraph and substitute—

“7. Passages will not be provided at public expense for the wife and family of any officer who marries on or subsequent to the commencing date of the period of his loan to the New Zealand Division.”

Chapter XIII.—Miscellaneous Instructions to Accountant and Storekeeping Officers.

Article 313: Report of Movements, Advancements, &c.—Cancel.

Article 318: Cancel and substitute—

“318. Financial adjustments between Navy Office and Admiralty or other Governments. The following procedure is to be observed by Accountant Officers:—

“(i) LEDGER TRANSACTIONS.

“Sums due from the Admiralty or from other Governments.—Copies of the accounts in which the transactions appear are to be prepared in duplicate on form S. 41A, certified by the Accountant Officer, and forwarded to Navy Office at the close of each quarter. The number of spirit rations actually issued should be specified, and the forms fastened together at the left-hand top corner.

“Sums due to the Admiralty or to other Governments.—As above, except that the forms need be rendered in original only.

“(ii) CASH ACCOUNT TRANSACTIONS.

“Transactions involving financial adjustments should be distinguished in the Cash Account, and the entries supported by vouchers in duplicate.”

Chapter XV.—Correspondence, Returns, &c.

Article 365: Return of numbers borne.—Cancel.
