FIRST SCHEDULE.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Opotiki County.—Waioeka Survey District.

SECTION 1, Block XIV: Area, 1,095 acres. Capital value, £300. Deposit on deferred payments, £20; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £9 2s. Renewable lease: half-yearly rent, £6.

Situated on the Waiata Road, about two miles from Oponae and twenty-six miles from Opotiki by good well-formed road. With the exception of a small flat around the homestead the section comprises all steep broken country. Soil fair to poor, resting principally on volcanic formation. Approximately 400 acres have been felled and grassed. Carrying-capacity about 500 sheep.

Section well watered by Waiata and other streams.

Improvements.—The following improvements are not included in the capital value, but must be paid for separately, either in cash or by a cash payment of £50, the balance by forty equal half-yearly instalments of £13 18s. 10d. in the case of a soldier and £14 10s. 10d. in the case of a civilian. Four-roomed cottage with bathroom and scullery, in poor condition and in need of repair; 210 chains fencing and about 400 acres grassing all of which has had a fire through it; woolshed and yards: Total value, £400.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

Wairoa County.—Tuahu Survey District.

(National-endowment Land.)

Section 5, Block X: Area, 1,525 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £700. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £14.

Situated forty miles from Wairoa Railway-station, and ten miles from Waikatea School, Ruakituri Valley, and forty miles from Wairoa Dairy Factory. Well watered by permanent streams; 575 acres in fair pasture, 75 acres in second growth and fern, 875 acres bush. Formerly part of Small Grazing-run 94.

Loaded with £1,050, for improvements comprising 650 acres bush felled and grassed, 200 chains seven-wire fencing, four-roomed cottage, iron whare, harness-shed, store-room, cowshed, and yard. This sum is payable in cash or by a cash payment of £100, the balance to be secured by mortgage under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act for a term of 34½ years with interest at the rate of 5½ per cent. in the case of a civilian, or for a term of 36½ years, interest 5 per cent., in the case of a discharged soldier, respective half-yearly instalments being £30 17s. 6d. and £28 10s.

Education Reserve in Wellington Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned Education Reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 4th January, 1933, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVE.

Waimarino County.—Manganui Survey District.

PART Section 5, Block X: Area, 397 acres. Upset half-yearly rent, £5.

Weighted with the sum of £27, for improvements consisting of 54 chains of boundary-fencing. This sum is payable in cash.

Situated on the right bank of the Manganui-O-te-Ao Stream, thirteen miles and a half from Raetihi Railway-station by twelve miles of metalled road, one mile of formed road, and half a mile of bridle-track. Fifty acres are in fair pasture, 147 acres have reverted to scrub and second growth, balance in standing bush consisting principally of rimu, matai, and tawhero. Section is undulating to hilly and rough, and inclined to be shady.

Soil of a light quality loam resting on papa formation.

Permanently watered. Altitude, 1,800 ft. to 2,000 ft. above sea-level.

NOTE.—The Land Board will consider remitting the rent accruing during the first two years of the term as it falls due.

Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.

State Forest Service,

Palmerston North, 14th November, 1932.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned lots of milling-timber will close at the office of the State Forest Service, Palmerston North, at 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 13th December, 1932.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON CONSERVATION-REGION.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

ALL the milling-timber on that area, containing 226 acres, being part of Lot 1, State Forest No. 42, Block IV, Kaitieke Survey District, situated close to Owhango Railway-station by Main Trunk line.

The total estimated quantity in cubic feet is 440,833, or in board feet, 3,068,200, made up as follows:—

Terms of Payment.

A marked cheque for one-tenth of the amount tendered, together with half-year’s ground rent and £1 1s. license fee, must accompany the tender, and the balance be paid by nine equal quarterly instalments, the first of which shall be paid six months after the date of sale, unless the successful tenderer shall buy the existing sawmill, when the first instalment shall be paid three months after the date of sale.

All the milling-timber on that area containing 604 acres, known as Lot 2A, State Forest No. 42, situated in Block IV, Kaitieke, and Block I, Tongariro Survey Districts, close to Owhango Railway-station.

The total estimated quantity in cubic feet is 854,015, or in board feet 5,903,100, made up as follows:—

All the milling-timber on that area containing 168 acres, known as Lot 3A in Provisional State Forest No. 67, Block VIII, Mangonui Survey District, situated close to Erua Railway-station.

The total estimated quantity in cubic feet is 290,600, or in board feet 1,955,400, made up as follows:—
