Pursuant to Regulation 4k of the Electrical Wiremen’s Registration Regulations, 1929, notice is hereby given of the results of the examination held in September, 1932. Examinations were held in the following centres :—

Regulations under the Government Railways Acts.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Government Railways Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Government Railways Board hereby resolves to amend the regulations made under the Government Railways Act, 1908, on the 12th day of June, 1922, and published in the Gazette of the 15th day of June, 1922 (as from time to time amended and as the same are enuring under the Government Railways Act, 1926), in the manner following :—
By omitting Regulation 125, and substituting the following :—
“125. (1) Every employee who is required to be and is on duty on any of the following days in any year—namely, Christmas Day, Good Friday, Sovereign’s Birthday, Labour Day, or Anzac Day—shall, except in the case of an employee who is continuing a shift (whether involving overtime or not) commenced on the previous day, be entitled to have one day added to the period of his ordinary leave of absence for such year for each of such days on which he is so required to be and is on duty, or one day off duty at any time before the granting to such employee of his ordinary leave of absence next after the time when he is required to be and is on duty as aforesaid in each case, and no addition shall be made to the period of such employee’s ordinary leave of absence in respect of any of the aforesaid days for which he has been so granted a day off duty.
“(2) Every employee who is laid off duty by the Department on any of the aforesaid days may elect not to receive any pay for each such day on which he is so laid off duty, and such employee shall be entitled to have one day added to the period of his ordinary leave of absence for each of the aforesaid days on which he is so laid off duty and in respect of which he receives no pay.”
By omitting subparagraphs (b) and (c) of paragraph (3) of Regulation 143, and substituting the following :—
“(b) The General Manager may in any year, at his discretion, award one or more scholarships tenable for four years in each case.
“(c) The scholarships shall be open to tradesmen who shall have completed their apprenticeship not more than two years before the award, and to apprentices who prior to the due date of the award shall have completed not less than four years of the period of their apprenticeship.”
