PAHIATUA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Pahiatua Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, principal, and other charges on the Pahiatua Borough Council Mangatainoka River Bridge Loan (1931), £2,700, authorized to be raised by the Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of paying its contribution towards the construction of a new bridge over the Mangatainoka River on the Pahiatua Station Road Main Highway (together with approaches thereto), the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fifty-eight one-hundredths (58/100ths) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Pahiatua, and that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of August and the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned JOHN WEINGOTT and GEORGE WILLIS HANNAN, carrying on business as Dyers and Cleaners, at New Plymouth, under the style or firm name of “The Valet Service,” has been dissolved as from the 18th day of January, 1932.

The said George Willis Hannan will carry on the business under the name of “The Valet Service,” and all debts due and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by him.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company, duly convened and held on the 15th day of January, 1932, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

By a further resolution J. A. ROBINSON, of Dunedin, Public Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

NOTICE is hereby given:—

  1. That the trustees of the estate of the above-named Mary Ann Barstow (deceased) have submitted a scheme for the administration of the trusts of the will of the said deceased for the assistance of indigent widows and spinsters above the age of fifty years to the Attorney-General under Part III of the Religious, Charitable, and Educational Trusts Act, 1908.

  2. That such scheme, together with the report of the Attorney-General, has been filed in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Auckland, and is open to inspection by the public during office hours without any fee or charge.

  3. That application will be made to the Court for approval of the said scheme on Monday, the 22nd day of February, 1932, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, or so soon thereafter as the application can be heard.
