Section 1, Block XV: Area, 282 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £100. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £2.
Situated in Maruia Valley seventeen miles from Murchison by good metalled road. About 50 acres of bush have been felled and sown but are now overgrown with fern and second growth, remainder of section bush-clad. Soil of good quality on flat, fair on hillside. Well watered by small streams. Altitude, 940 ft. to 2,000 ft. above sea-level.
Waimea County.—Kaiteriteri Survey District.
Sections 2 and 4, Block XV: Area, 2,025 acres. Capital value, £710. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £14 4s.
Loaded in favour of the State Advances Department with £1,229 for improvements, comprising 600 acres felled and grassed, 120 chains of fencing, and a small bush whare.
These sections are situated about nine miles from Motueka by good road. Approximately 1,425 acres are in bush and a large proportion of the balance has gone back to fern. Soil fair to good quality resting on limestone. Well watered.
Takaka County.—Takaka Survey District.
Section 12, Block IV: Area, 305 acres. Capital value, £110. Renewable lease, half yearly rent, £2 4s.
Weighted with £12 for improvements, comprising 6 acres felled and grassed. This sum is payable in cash.
This section is situated between the Canaan Block and the country lying above the East Road to Takaka. Access is from Rameka Creek by pack track and from Rameka Creek to Takaka is by formed road. Section mostly bush. Soil poor to good, resting on limestone. No buildings.
Murchison County.—Matakitaki Survey District.

Section 10, Block II: Area, 593 acres. Capital value, £296. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £5 18s. 5d.
Forty acres flat, mostly old mining-workings overgrown with blackberries; balance fairly steep hills. Soil on flat, river alluvium, resting on gravel. The forest is red and brown birch, with dense undergrowth of five-finger and birch scrub. Well watered. Elevation 1,150 ft. to 2,500 ft. Access by good metalled road to western boundary of section, seventeen miles and a half from Murchison.
Inangahua County.—Inangahua Survey District.
Section 12, Block III: Area, 99 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £50. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £1.
This section is situated in the Buller River Valley about six miles from Inangahua Junction Railway-station and school. The access is from Inangahua Junction by six miles of metalled road. There is no flat land on this section, and most of it has had a fire over it and is now in fern and blackberry. The soil is of fair quality resting on sandstone formation. The forest is medium, comprising mixed birch with few rimu, &c., but the timber is of no commercial value—there is a medium undergrowth of lancewood, birch, scrub, &c. The section is fairly well watered by creeks, and the altitude is from about 300 ft. to 1,300 ft. above sea-level. The general quality of the section is fair.
Inangahua County.—Waitahu Survey District.
Section 3, Block II: Area, 108 acres 1 rood 16 perches. Capital value, £45. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, 18s.
This section is situated in Inangahua Valley about three miles from Reefton by metalled road, to opposite side of the river. There is a footbridge a short distance from the section, and a ford that can be used except when the river is in high flood. The section has small flats along the frontage, the balance being undulating and hillside land. There is very little bush, a fire has been over the section and it is now mostly fern with rough feed in places. The soil is of fair quality, resting on sandstone formation (small part limestone). There is no forest worth mentioning. Well watered by river and creek. Altitude from about 700 ft. to 1,500 ft. The general quality of the section is fair, but there are no improvements.

Section 2, Block I: Area, 276 acres. Capital value, £82 16s. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £1 13s. 2d.
The section is situated towards the head of Slab Hut Creek and the access is from Reefton which is five miles distant, two miles formed and metalled road and three miles track, now overgrown. Section comprised of a little birch bush and scrub, but also a fair area of open semi-pakihi and pakihi land covered with small rushes. A little rough feed in places. The section is well watered. Elevation ranges from 1,100 ft. to 1,700 ft.
Buller County.—Steeple Survey District.

Section 11, Block IV: Area, 261 acres 0 roods 30 perches. Capital value, £80. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £1 12s.
Situated west of the Buller River between Bradshaw’s Road and the main highway, about three miles from Westport. It is pakihi land, open and undulating, very wet in parts, covered with short manuka and rush. Soil of poor quality. The section is well watered.
Buller County.—Mokihinui Survey District.

Section 4, Block XVI: Area, 92 acres 1 rood 2 perches. Capital value, £46. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, 18s. 5d.
Section is situated on the south side of the Mokihinui River and access is from Seddonville which is about two miles and a quarter distant, one mile dray-road, balance metalled track. Broken country all bush. Eight acres have been felled but are now all overgrown. Soil of poor quality, resting on sandstone formation. Forest is light, comprising birch and a few rimu with a dense undergrowth of mixed scrub. Well watered by creeks. No improvements.
Buller County.—Waitakere Survey District.

Section 16, Block II: Area, 55 acres. Capital value, £15. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, 6s.
The section is situated at Addison’s Flat about eight miles distant from Westport, seven miles and three-quarters by good motor road and 20 chains of dray-track now overgrown. The land is all pakihi with the exception of 3 acres flat land along the creek. Soil of poor quality resting on gravel. No improvements.
Murchison County.—Tutaki Survey District.

Section 22, Block IX: Area, 265 acres 1 rood 5 perches. Capital value, £100. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £2.
Section is situated in the Matakitaki Valley one mile from the Six Mile School. Access is from Murchison, which is about six miles and a half distant by metalled road.
Section, with the exception of small flats on road frontage is all hillside and lies badly to the sun. Soil is of fair quality along frontage, resting on sandstone formation. The forest is heavy, chiefly birch, with a medium undergrowth of birch, &c.
Section is well watered by streams. Elevation ranges from about 750 ft. to 2,100 ft. above sea-level.
General quality of section is poor.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, at 2 o’clock p.m., on Wednesday, the 30th November, 1932, under the provisions of section 15 of the Public Reserves, Domains and National Parks Act, 1928.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—ASHBURTON COUNTY.—
ALFORD SURVEY DISTRICT.
RESERVE 2028, Block XV: Area, 10 acres. Upset annual rental, £6.
This reserve, which is suitable for cropping and grazing, is situated close in Mount Somers Railway-station. It is ring-fenced and all in old pasture.
Term of lease: Five years.
